DanadaPonte.com - This 12 week online art-based spiritual coaching program journey is for soon-to-be-moms and mothers of babies, toddlers and preschoolers (0 – 4) who want to work through their past mother/daughter dynamics and step into motherhood with a healed heart.

Become The Mother You Always Wanted

How wonderful would it be to know you are going to be the perfect mother for your child?

You probably would feel pretty excited about becoming a mom.

You’d feel relaxed and confident as if it all came naturally to you. Your motherly instincts would kick right in (because they really are in there!) and you’d feel emotionally connected to your baby right from pregnancy. When she finally greeted the world, you’d feel powerfully attuned to her needs and to your own ability to meet them. You’d feel like A Good Mom.

But perhaps you’re like I was and you’ve been more scared than blissful?

Maybe you feel like an imposter, like someone is going to discover how ill-equipped you really are to be jumping into this whole mother gig?

There’s a lot about the way you were raised that you don’t want to repeat but you’re not sure you have the skills to be different, and lately your emotions are as unpredictable as the weather.

You’re feeling empty one moment, short-tempered the next, with bouts of depression and lethargy in between. Something in you knows you can’t just chalk it all up to hormones. Or maybe you’re not even aware of how you feel but you don’t feel present in your body. That old familiar flight response is starting to kick in making a surprise trip to anywhere but here seem pretty tempting…

Has all the focus been on preparing you physically?

Become-the-Mother-Page3

When I was pregnant, everyone wanted to make sure I knew how to breathe when I was in labor, how to breastfeed the baby and how to care for him when I brought him home.

My husband and I bought the diapers, painted the baby’s room and talked about what it would be like having a baby in the house. I read as many pregnancy and parenting books as my brain could digest. I took the birthing courses and reached out to family and friends but still something was missing.

Part of me was excited but another part of me was freaking out.

Instead of checking in and getting curious about what was really going on for me, I became withdrawn. Nobody picked up on it. They thought everything was fine but I felt like a ghost floating near my body but not wanting to live in it.

I was going through the motions of motherhood without enjoying the dance.

My inability to connect emotionally to motherhood and to my baby had heartbreaking effects. I couldn’t stand up for myself and make my own decisions. I was a puppet being led by people who did not reflect my true values and who were making parenting decisions that I didn’t agree with or like. My birthing experience was nothing like I would have wanted it to be.

DanadaPonte.com - This 12 week online art-based spiritual coaching program journey is for soon-to-be-moms and mothers of babies, toddlers and preschoolers (0 – 4) who want to work through their past mother/daughter dynamics and step into motherhood with a healed heart.I took my baby home and it got worse before it got better.

  • I tried to breastfeed but my milk wouldn’t drop because I felt no connection to my baby
  • I was anxious most of the time
  • I felt a profound love for my baby but more often than not this feeling was hijacked by fear or depression
  • I was scared that I didn’t know what I was doing and somehow I would cause irreparable damage and I was depressed from years of living with the emotional IQ of a zombie
  • My emotional state caused me to miss out on the joy and miracle of the most beautiful event in my life
  • More importantly, I wasn’t able to care for my son as well as I would have liked to.

It wasn’t until years later that I realized the cause of my rocky road to motherhood could be traced back to my childhood relationship with my own mother.

I wish someone could have shown me this back then. I wish someone would have taken me aside and said,

“You’re scared. Your whole world is going to change and you’re not sure you can handle it. You feel like you don’t know how to do this and that makes all the sense in the world considering what went on for you when you were a child.

Despite that, everything you need to be the perfect mother for your child is in you. I promise you. It’s there. You just have to find it again. It’s going to take a little bit of work but don’t worry, you will do fine. Everything is going to be okay.”

That’s why I created this course, “Becoming the Mother You Always Wanted”

This 12 week online art-based spiritual coaching program journey is for soon-to-be-moms and mothers of babies, toddlers and preschoolers (0 – 4) who want to work through their past mother/daughter dynamics and step into motherhood with a healed heart.

Mother-daughter relationships carry unique emotional challenges that, until you are aware of them, will influence the way you parent your children despite your best intentions. During our 12 weeks together you will learn what those challenges are for you and how to overcome them.

There are two ways you can enjoy this journey. You can choose:

  • The Creative Mama Program
  • The Community-Loving Creative Mama Program

The Creative Mama Program

The Creative Mama Program is for those DIY lovers and self-starters who enjoy going it on their own. Each week you will receive full-access to all content in the course. I’ve created the material to stand on its own and work beautifully for those of you who don’t feel they need the group or one-on-one interaction.

 The Community-Loving Creative Mama Program

The Community-Loving Creative Mama Program is for those of you who like a little more attention and enjoy getting to know others in the course. You will receive full-access to all content in the course PLUS you’ll be invited to join our private Facebook group where I will participate on a weekly basis. You will also receive access to our weekly group Skype calls. We’ll meet online, me with a chai latte in hand and you with a cozy blanket on your lap, and delve deeper into the week’s theme.

A note about the size of the group:

In my programs, it’s really important to me that you feel taken care of. I keep the numbers in each group to a maximum of 10.

I want you to get to know each other and I want to be available to you as much as possible. This way, when we meet on Skype each week, you’ll have a better chance of going deep and getting the care you need.

You’ll also be more likely to form lasting friendships with the women in your group. These women will be like-minded, will have had similar challenges from the past and will be going through life’s most important changes at the same time as you for years to come. It is important to me you get a chance to really know them as well as you can during our time together.

Every program includes:

  • 12 pretty workbooks with easy to answer questions to help you delve deeper into each week’s theme
  • 6 art projects for you to create. Each project was deliberately designed to help you heal, and master the work we cover together

Even if you’ve never picked up a paintbrush before or you’ve never experienced an online course, I’ve taken extra care to make this easy and gentle for you.

Each week builds on the next and the art instructions are listed step by gentle step in writing and on video. You won’t be rushed or asked to push through anything you’re not ready to meet on your own terms. You will find a safe place here where you can reveal those tender places in your heart. Yes, this is deep work… soul work… but we do it with a sense of lightness and play and we do it together.

If you choose to join me on this journey, you will:

  • develop your own clear vision of the kind of mother you want to be
  • set intentions for your future relationship with your children
  • connect emotionally with your baby
  • see how your childhood relationship with your mother may be affecting you today (maybe without your realizing it)
  • learn what your emotional needs are and how to meet them
  • learn what your child’s emotional needs are and how to meet them
  • connect with Divine Mother archetypes ( Katy, this will have  a hyperlink to a blog entry about what these are) and learn how to trust your maternal intuition
  • be at peace with your own relationship with your own mother (whatever its status)

You will also learn a variety of art techniques, such as:

  • creating textured backgrounds
  • working with style guides
  • two different collage techniques
  • how to make paper flowers
  • how to make beautiful art with simple doodles
  • how to receive messages from your soul and the divine through art

Further Questions and Ponderings

This art-based spiritual coaching program is for you if:DanadaPonte.com - This 12 week online art-based spiritual coaching program journey is for soon-to-be-moms and mothers of babies, toddlers and preschoolers (0 – 4) who want to work through their past mother/daughter dynamics and step into motherhood with a healed heart.

  • You are creative and love the idea of excavating your inner landscape through art (whether you are new to art or were born with a paintbrush in your hand)
  • You suspect your childhood relationship with your mother is contributing to how you are feeling about stepping into motherhood
  • You have trouble setting boundaries or defining the kind of parent you want to be and you’d like help learning how to do both
  • You’ve been known to travel in new-age circles and are open to things like angels, meditation, the divine feminine and playing with your intuition – or you’re curious!

It’s probably not for you if:

  • You don’t enjoy online learning
  • You already feel overwhelmed in your life and don’t know when you would find the time to fit some art in
  • You are uncomfortable with anything that feels a little too woo-woo
  • You don’t like digging in your past

What do I need to enjoy this journey?

A computer, an email account and access to the internet. Those of you interested in The Community-Loving Creative Mama Program will also need a Facebook and Skype account for our group gatherings.

Everyone will need the resources to purchase the necessary art supplies but I’ve included some budget friendly options to help with those on a tight budget.

Finally, you’ll need to carve out a few hours each week to complete your art journeys. This can be hard to fit in sometimes but it is so worth it.

It’s a 12-week program but I only see six sessions in the course outline. Why is that?

I space out the themes to cover two weeks. I find trying to complete an entire art project in a week can be overwhelming and there’s a lot of meaty information to digest. A slow steady pace keeps the creative juices flowing and allows us to dig a little deeper than if we tried to rush to get things done.

We’re not looking for surface answers here so setting a calm relaxed pace is crucial.

Will I be able to access your feedback and support, Dana?

For those of you choosing the Creative Mama Program, you will be getting to know me through the videos but direct feedback on your experience won’t be available.

Those in the Community-Loving Creative Mama Program will have access to my feedback and support in the Facebook forum where I join in the conversations at least once a week. You’ll also enjoy connecting with your fellow classmates and accessing their innate wisdom and support.  You will also have access to me at the weekly group Skype meetups.

Those in the Fully-Nurtured Creative Mama Program get all this support plus some quality one-on-one time where I use my channeling skills and put on my best alternative therapist hat to help you sort through whatever you most need help unravelling.

This is art therapy, right?

Sort of. but not technically. I’m not a registered art therapist nor am I a qualified psychologist. My training comes from my many years as a channel for the angels, my devoted study and application of A Course in Miracles, my years developing and teaching ADIGI Therapy (the therapy approach I created with Joyce Schafers, author of Bellwether’s Message About God), my intuition, my own experience as a mother and my years teaching and creating art.

If you are looking for solid textbook training, I’m not your gal. But if you enjoy creative, intuitive paths to healing, you’ll probably really like what I have to offer.

I prefer to pay in three installments. How does that option work?

You will make the first payment manually and one month later the second payment will automatically be withdrawn from the same account. The third payment will be automatically withdrawn one month after the second payment.

Do you have a return policy?

This is a personal journey therefore I can’t really set any guarantees but If after receiving the pre-work you feel this just isn’t a perfect fit for you, I will happily refund your money if you email me at support@danadaponte.com BEFORE THE START OF THE PROGRAM.

I try hard to establish a comfortable environment where people can feel safe to open up and share. Commitment and consistently are crucial to creating this atmosphere so no refunds will be given after the first session starts.
