Art Journal with the Moon: Themes and Prompts for April 21-27, 2025
In this post, I share a summary of the moon for the week of April 21-27, 2025 as it moves through the zodiac and interacts with the planets. I also talk about working with new moon in Taurus in your art journal.
Money and the Taurus New Moon
This week, we greet the new moon in Taurus.
It’s the kind of energy that reminds you to come back to your body, your breath, and the deeper truth of what you need to feel nourished, both in life and in your business. It’s a moon that invites you to slow down, reset, and reconnect with what really matters and especially in your relationship with money and your sense of self-worth.
If you’re a highly sensitive entrepreneur with a history of trauma or emotional neglect, this moon is especially powerful. It’s not asking you to push harder or make big moves. It’s asking you to take one steady, intentional step forward. It’s asking you to take a step toward that which honors your capacity and your worth.
Taurus is ruled by Venus, and we’ve been focusing so much on Venus energy lately because she’s been gifting us with so much. Right before the new moon, Venus is separating from Saturn, which means the energy of restriction, re-evaluation, and quality control is starting to ease. It’s like you’ve done the sorting. You’ve said the hard no’s. You’ve pulled back to find what’s really true. And now, you’re ready to begin again but this time with more clarity, more care, and more depth.
You might really feel this new beginnings energy after a period of deep learning in your relationships but it’s also here in your business because Venus in Taurus also cares about your relationship to money and your sense of self-worth.
This new moon is your chance to ask yourself:
Does my business truly support me? And if not—how do I build a business that does?
Let’s be honest, when your business isn’t supporting you financially, it can stir up a lot of emotional pain. For many of us, it pokes at old wounds from childhood, from the nervous system patterns we had to create just to survive. It can bring up deep feelings of unworthiness, or even fear. Fear that you’re not enough. Fears around scarcity, Fear that you’ll never be safe. Fear that it’s all going to collapse. And sometimes it’s not even your own stories of fear, sometimes it’s ancestral.
Maybe your family, like mine, has a history of poverty or sacrifice, and the idea of building wealth through something creative or spiritual feels almost impossible, or unsafe, or shameful. This moon invites you to look at those patterns and meet them with compassion.
Your art journal can hold this story for you.
Use this new moon to explore the financial ups and downs you’ve experienced in your business. Let yourself ask:
What does it bring up in me when I feel unsupported financially?
Where do I feel it in my body? What memory or past experience does it echo?
Whose story am I still carrying about what’s possible for me?
What needs to shift for me to feel truly supported, not just by money, but by the structure and rhythm of my business itself?
This Taurus moon is all about building new structures that support your stability without compromising your sensitivity. That’s the Queen of Taurus energy. She doesn’t rush. She doesn’t sacrifice herself for the sake of progress. She moves with intention. She honors the seasons. She plants what she knows will grow slowly, but surely. She knows her worth because she feels it. Not in her achievements but in her body, in her rest, in her pleasure, in her connection to the earth and to what is real.
What would it look like for you to build your business from that place?
In your journal, try creating a page that honors your financial self-worth.
Use colors and textures that feel nourishing and connected to the element of earth like soft greens, rich browns, gentle blues. Draw a garden, a tree or coins or a crown. What symbol feels right to represent your worth.
Around it, write the beliefs you’re ready to release like: “I have to work hard to deserve money,” “Art isn’t real work,” “I shouldn’t charge for my spiritual gifts,” “I shouldn’t ask for too much.” Then write what you want to believe instead: “My gifts have value,” “My business gets to support me,” “I am allowed to receive.”
This moon is not making major aspects to other planets, which gives it a clean slate kind of feel. There’s space here. There’s calm. The recent tension is behind us. We’re in a cooling, grounding place now.
The moon and Venus are both in signs that support growth, nourishment, and healing. This is rich soil. This is where good things can grow. Even if your income fluctuates, even if you haven’t hit your goals yet, this is the time to ask:
How do I create stability in my inner world?
What systems, rhythms, or support can I put in place to feel safer in the ebbs and flows?
And maybe most importantly, ask:
What do I need to feel well?
Not just productive, not just successful but well. Taurus is not here for the hustle. Taurus wants you to enjoy your life. To taste your food. To feel the softness of your clothes. To slow down long enough to remember that your business is not just about making money, it’s about making a life. So what kind of life are you growing? And does the way you’re running your business actually support that?
Let this new moon be your invitation to build something slower. Softer. More honest and more prosperous at the same time. Let it be the moon where you reclaim your worth not because someone told you to, but because you’re finally ready to believe it. Not all at once, but slowly. Like a root sinking deeper into the earth. Like a seed beginning to sprout.
You’re allowed to have a business that nourishes you. You’re allowed to be supported. You’re allowed to be well. Let this be the new beginning where that truth takes root in the way you do business and begins to grow.
Let This Energy Guide Your Business
If you want to work with this energy to grow your business, I want to introduce you to something I’ve poured my heart into.
The Creative Witch’s Monthly Guide to Growing Your Business with the Moon and Stars
It’s a hand-illustrated workbook that helps you grow your business in rhythm with the moon, the sun, and your own inner wisdom. It’s gentle, creative, and deeply supportive. It’s a little like a monthly ritual in print.
It’s soft. It’s beautiful. It’s structured in a gentle, step-by-step way so you don’t have to think too hard or figure everything out alone. You just turn the page and follow along.
Each month, this guide gives you a place to check in and not just with your business, but with yourself. You slow down. You take a breath. You notice how you’re really feeling, what you actually have the capacity for, and what your business is asking for next.
You let the moon and the stars help you find your rhythm. You remember that you’re allowed to grow slowly, intuitively, in partnership with nature and your own energy. You make space for what matters most. And over time, something shifts and it shifts not because you pushed harder or hustled more, but because you started working with your energy instead of against it.
There’s something really sacred about that.
After getting sick more than a decade ago, I had to completely change the way I lived and worked. I couldn’t keep up with the pace of the world around me anymore. I didn’t have the same physical or emotional capacity and I still don’t. But I knew even though my capacity changed, I still needed to make a living from my intuitive and creative gifts. Plus, my soul still had so much it felt called to do.
So I started building a business that worked with my body, my sensitivity, my truth. I leaned into rhythm, ritual, and spiritual support. I let the moon, the sun, and my inner knowing show me the way. And that’s what this guidebook captures.
This isn’t just a planner. It’s more than a productivity tool. It’s a reflection of a way of being in business that’s rooted in trust, magic, and self-compassion.
I spend time planning, considering, and creating each page carefully so that you don’t have to worry about what to do or when to do it. All you have to do is open the guide, follow along, and let it support you. It’s structured but gentle. Thoughtful but not overwhelming. It walks you gently through the month with intention, helping you stay connected to your deeper purpose and your sacred path.
I hand-illustrated it because I wanted it to feel beautiful. I wanted it to feel like a little altar you can hold in your hands. I want it to remind you that your business can be a spell, a prayer, a creative act of devotion. A reflection of your soul.
If you’re longing for a way to grow your business that honors your sensitivity… that makes space for your body, your emotions, your spiritual path… that gives you support without pressure… I made this for you.
And I would be so honored for you to check it out and see if you feel drawn to it too (excuse the pun).

Monday
The week kicks off with the last quarter moon in the sign of Aquarius having a close relationship with Pluto and a happy relationship with Mercury on Monday.
This is the kind of lunar energy that invites deep insight and transformation, but it might not come in a loud or obvious way. Aquarius is an air sign which means it’s about thoughts, change, vision, clarity, and the bigger picture and Pluto adds emotional depth and the power to release what no longer fits. When the moon is present in a sign with Pluto, something in your emotional world may be ready to shift in a big way, especially something that has been hidden beneath the surface. And with Mercury involved, there’s an opportunity to understand what’s happening with more clarity and to express it, maybe not out loud, but definitely in your journal or through your creative process.
This is a powerful day to do some deep emotional healing work in your art journal. You might notice old thought patterns rising up, especially around identity, safety, or control and this moon is gently encouraging you to see those patterns clearly and let go of the ones that are holding you back. This isn’t about judgment or fixing yourself. It’s about telling the truth to yourself with compassion and finding the freedom that lives on the other side of that truth.
In your art journal, try creating a page that reflects something you’re ready to transform in the way you think about yourself or your business. Maybe it’s an old belief that keeps you playing small, or a fear of being seen. Use cool colors or geometric shapes to work with that Aquarian energy, and something dark or bold to represent what you’re ready to release with Pluto. You could even write out the belief you want to let go of, then tear or paint over it, and write a new belief in its place. Let this moon help you shift something meaningful inside you—something that will make more room for your soul to lead.
In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents something you’re ready to transform in the way you think about yourself or your business.
Tuesday
On Tuesday, the last quarter moon moves into the sign of Pisces.
The last quarter moon, also known as the third quarter or waning half-moon, is the second to last phase in the moon’s monthly cycle. The moon’s light is waning, drawing inward once more. The last quarter moon stands as a symbolic crossroads, a time of reflection, release, and inner transformation.
The last quarter moon is viewed as a time of introspection and surrender. As the moonlight diminishes, we too are invited to draw inwards and assess our inner landscapes. It’s a period of letting go, symbolizing the release of old beliefs, habits, or emotional baggage that no longer serve us.
Emotionally, this phase is about acceptance and forgiveness. We are encouraged to make peace with our past, cultivate forgiveness towards ourselves and others, and create space for new possibilities and growth.
To enhance your experience of the last quarter moon, consider these questions:
What lessons have I learned in this past moon cycle?
What am I ready to let go of?
How have I grown and changed over this moon cycle?
Who or what do I need to forgive to move forward?
What seeds of intention do I want to plant for the next cycle?
The last quarter moon invites you to pause, look inward, and clear away what no longer serves you. As you align with this lunar rhythm, you nurture your ability to adapt, release, and prepare yourself for new beginnings.
In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents what you need to let go of before you consider what seeds of intention you want to plant during the next cycle.
Wednesday
On Wednesday, the last quarter moon is in the sign of Pisces.
This is like a gentle turning inward. It’s a time to pause and reflect, to soften into what your heart has been quietly carrying. Pisces is a sign that feels everything and it doesn’t need explanations or solutions, just space to feel and let go. And the last quarter moon phase is all about release, forgiveness, and shifting into a quieter rhythm.
If you’re highly sensitive like I am, or you carry old emotional wounds from childhood, this moon can help you tend to the parts of yourself that still feel overwhelmed or burdened by things that aren’t even yours to carry anymore.
This is the kind of moon that asks you to step out of logic and into your intuition. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t need a strategy or a checklist. You just need to be with yourself. Be with your feelings, with your dreams, with whatever wants to rise up and be witnessed. This is a perfect time to work in your art journal in a way that feels dreamy, flowing, and intuitive. Don’t overthink it. Just let your hands move and your heart speak.
Try creating a page that represents emotional or energetic weight you’re ready to release. You could use soft blues or purples, watery textures, and gentle shapes.
You might even want to write down the words or stories that no longer serve you, then paint or collage over them to symbolize letting them go.
Ask yourself:
What old emotion or belief is ready to be released from my body, my heart, or my business?
In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents any emotional or energetic weight you’re ready to release.
Thursday
On Thursday, at the end of the day in the mountain time zone, the balsamic moon in the sign of Pisces is having a close relationship with Saturn and Venus.
This is a deep, quiet and soft but serious kind of moon. It wraps you in tenderness while also asking you to take something seriously about your heart, your longings, your self-worth, or your relationships.
Venus brings beauty, value, and love into the picture, while Saturn brings maturity, reflection, and wisdom that comes from experience. Together, in Pisces, they ask you to reflect on the emotional and spiritual stories you’ve outgrown. This isn’t about regret or shame. It’s about clarity. It’s about preparing yourself to leave behind what no longer matches the quality of love, care, and value you now know you deserve.
This is a beautiful energy for exploring your relationship with self-worth, especially if you’ve carried patterns shaped by emotional neglect or trauma. With Saturn’s presence, you might feel a bit of heaviness or a kind of emotional seriousness but that’s not a bad thing. It just means your heart is asking to be taken seriously. Your value is asking to be taken seriously. You might find yourself reflecting on times you accepted less than you needed, or quiet ways you’ve been waiting for someone else to give you permission to feel worthy.
But this moon reminds you: you are the one who gives that permission now.
In your art journal, you can create a page that honors both the softness and the strength in you. Ask yourself:
What part of me is ready to let go of the belief that I’m too much or not enough?
What would it look like to build a life and a business rooted in how deeply I value myself now?
What would it look like to be in relationships where I am cherished and valued?
This is the final release before the new moon arrives, and it’s sacred.
Let yourself grieve what needs to be let go, and bless what’s ready to grow in its place.
In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents the kind of relationships and business you want to attract in your life now.
Friday
On Friday, the balsamic moon is in the sign of Aries.
The balsamic moon in Aries holds a very specific kind of quiet fire. Imagine a spark deep down in the ashes. It’s quiet and steady. It’s not raging and hot but it’s still warm and comforting.
Aries is often seen as bold and brave, but in this last phase of the lunar cycle such as this which is the phase of release, rest, and endings, that Aries fire doesn’t roar. It flickers. It smolders. It waits. This isn’t the Aries of battle cries and bold moves. It’s the Aries that knows when to pause before the next beginning, when to tend to the part of you that still feels like it has to fight to survive.
You might feel an urgency of Aries to “get going” or to fix something right now, but the balsamic moon is here to tamper that down and to teach you that not everything needs your immediate energy. It’s a chance to ask yourself:
What action am I taking because I truly want to, and what am I doing because I’m afraid to be still?
Aries is the spark of the self, and this phase invites you to reconnect with that spark not by doing more, but by releasing the old identities and false urgency that block your inner fire from burning clean and bright.
In your art journal, create a page that feels like a soft letting-go of the parts of you that get stuck in that feeling of urgency.
Maybe draw a match that’s already burned out, or a small flame in a safe container. Around it, ask yourself:
What beliefs about urgency am I ready to release?
What would it feel like to trust that I’m safe to rest, even when I don’t have a plan?
This is Aries in its quietest, most sacred form. It’s the part of you that says, “I’m here and I matter,” even when no one else can validate that for you. It’s the part of you that can take the time to honor endings before the next bright beginning.
In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents what comes up for you emotionally and spiritually when you are still and quiet. Try to represent both the comfortable and uncomfortable things that come up.
Saturday
On Saturday, the moon is void of course for most of the day.
A void of course moon sometimes happens when the moon is moving from one zodiac sign to another or when it’s not making any aspects with other planets. I think of it as though the moon is just hanging around alone and in the in-between space. It is no longer where it was but not yet where it will be. The moon likes reflecting energy down to us but when it’s void of course there’s nothing substantial for it to reflect so its reflecting that emptiness back to us.
It’s as if it takes a brief pause, suspending its influence and opening a window of stillness and introspection.
Embrace this pause, take a step back, and reflect. This period is not about making significant decisions or initiating new projects; rather, it’s a time for taking stock, for going inward, and for focusing on self-care and inner peace.
When the moon is void of course, it is a good time to engage in activities that nurture your emotional well-being. This is also an opportune time for self-reflection and introspection, allowing you to connect more deeply with your inner self.
On the flip side, it’s best to avoid initiating new projects, making important decisions, or embarking on significant endeavors during this period. The energy of the void of course moon is not conducive to starting new things; rather, it supports wrapping up loose ends and investing in self-care.
Consider reflecting on these questions during a Void of Course Moon:
What areas of my life require my attention, but I’ve been neglecting?
How can I better care for my emotional well-being?
What loose ends do I need to tie up before moving forward?
The void of course moon invites you to embrace the pause, to indulge in introspection, and to nurture your emotional health. It’s a gentle reminder from the cosmos that in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, taking time for yourself, for stillness and self-care, is not only beneficial, it’s essential.
In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents an area of your life that you’ve been neglecting but that, when the new lunar cycle comes, you want to devote more attention to.
Sunday
On Sunday, we greet the new moon in Taurus.
This new moon in Taurus isn’t asking you to push harder—it’s asking you to soften into your worth.
It’s a moon that invites you to slow down, breathe deeper, and reconnect with what truly nourishes you… especially in your relationship with money and your business.
If you’re a highly sensitive entrepreneur with a history of trauma or emotional neglect, the financial ups and downs in your business can stir up deep-rooted fear. These fears aren’t just yours, sometimes they are inherited. This new moon gives you a safe place to meet those fears with compassion.
What does it bring up when your business isn’t supporting you the way you need it to?
Where in your body do you hold stories of poverty, lack or scarcity?
What would it feel like to build a business that actually supports the life you want to live?
This Taurus moon is rich soil. It’s a moment to plant new beliefs about what’s possible for you and to planets beliefs rooted in your worth, not your past.
In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents your new moon intentions.
