Connecting with Your Heart's Longing with the Sagittarius New Moon (December 8–14, 2025)

Weekly Astrology and Art Magic for Highly Sensitive Entrepreneurs: Connecting with Your Heart’s Longing with the Sagittarius New Moon (December 15–21, 2025)

In this post, I write about working with the Sagittarius new moon in your art journal to connect with your heart’s longings.

If you want to HEAR these updates instead of, or in addition to, reading them, you can subscribe to my podcast Grow Your Business with Astrology and Art Magic here (or search for it by name on your favorite podcast app).

INTRODUCTION

Oh my goddess, I have news. BIG news. News that is both exhilarating and scary.

We’re going on a break (yes, that’s a Ross and Rachel reference).

Well, I’m going on a break. For 4 moons.

On Friday, we greet the Sagittarius new moon.

Usually, a new moon in Sagittarius feels like a fresh spark of fire that carries big-picture dreaming, optimism and putting your arrow on a new horizon and saying, “Okay, this is where I’m headed now.” Sagittarius is the part of the sky that loves meaning and adventure. It’s the energy of teachers, seekers, wild-hearted explorers, and people who can’t help but ask, What else is possible for my life?

Under a typical Sagittarius new moon, we’re invited to set intentions that stretch us and intentions that align with our truth, our faith and our sense of purpose.

A Little Different Than Usual

But this Sagittarius new moon is different. My astrology teacher, Kelly Surtees, described it as a “fire moon that is struggling.” Right before the new moon, there’s a heaviness pressing on it, and there’s also a strong watery influence that creates a hazy, dreamlike quality. Instead of a clear flame, it’s like a campfire with water poured over it. It’s still warm and still alive but it’s smoky and hard to see through.

You might feel disconnected from ordinary reality and more swept up in dreams, fantasies, and longings. There can be this sense of wanting to escape real life for a while, to drift into imagination and ask, What if I could just slip away from all of this and live differently? It’s very mutable energy so it can also seem scattered, meandering and easily distracted. And in true mutable form, it might have that feeling of having a lot happening but not quite being able to keep up or organize it all (I feel seen).

Because of the strong watery influence, there’s also a slowing down and cooling off quality to this new moon. It’s not a straightforward “let’s charge ahead and launch new things” kind of moment. It’s more a moment where everything goes a little off-rhythm. You might feel like you don’t really know what day it is or like life is a bit surreal. It’s not unlike being in the height of holiday season where normal rules and routines don’t apply for a couple weeks.

A Distraction From Normal

In this lunar energy, things are slower, more sluggish and your attention might not be on your usual responsibilities. In some ways, this can be frustrating if you’re trying to be productive, but it can also be deeply healing if you let it be a kind of vacation which for many of us the holiday season is. This moon is asking for rest, recharge and ease where you can find it. It’s also asking you to be gentle with yourself wherever you feel confused in your life.

There’s also an emphasis on solitude and healing. My teacher explained how the planet ruling this new moon is sitting off on its own in a very nurturing sign, which gives this lunation a retreat to your inner sanctuary kind of feeling. Let’s not forget that time and space away from your normal life can actually help soften your nervous system.

This is the kind of new moon that’s perfect for exploring possibilities that may or may not end up being the thing. It’s a moon for trying something on, for wandering a little, for letting yourself imagine without needing to pin everything down. My mentor called it an “ethereal moon” so basically a moon not very connected to the real world. To me, it feels like stepping into a dream corridor between one chapter of life and the next.

A Creative Break

Which is part of why I find it so interesting that this is the new moon I’m beginning my own creative break under. There’s something very “will this or won’t this work out?” about it. The energy of trying something that might be idyllic in my mind but may not look exactly like I imagined once I’m in it. That quality is scary for me, but it’s also exhilarating.

I’m choosing, starting at this Sagittarius new moon, to step out of my normal rhythm for four full lunar cycles which means from the Sagittarius new moon on December 19 to the Aries new moon on April 17, I’m pausing everything to be completely devoted to finishing the book I want to celebrate on my birthday next year.

My birthday next year is on Friday, May 22, 2026 and I want you to SAVE THE DATE because I want you to celebrate with me. If all goes well and if you live near Bragg Creek, AB or have the desire to come visit the area, I want you to be there with me in person to celebrate. And if you can’t join me in person, I want you to come celebrate with me online in May as well. I’ll share more details the closer to the date.

But for now know that I’m making the conscious choice to enter this hazy, dreamlike Sagittarius moon on purpose. I want to step away from the familiar routines of my business and walk into a season that is more about imagination, solitude, and trust than clear, linear thinking and planning.

Things Are Changing Temporarily

What this means for you is that my usual rhythm is going to change for a while. My weekly blog posts and podcast episodes where I share the astrology for the week ahead and what we, as highly sensitive entrepreneurs, need to keep in mind as we grow ourselves and our businesses, will be on pause during these four lunar cycles. The daily podcast episodes where I guide you to align with the energy of the moon and stars in your art journal to grow your business and your inner world will also be paused.

In other words, from now until the Aries new moon on April 17, 2026, I’ll be stepping back from my regular weekly and daily content so I can pour my creative energy into one big, long-held dream: finishing my book. Can you believe it? I’ve been working on this dream for 6 years. Well, on and off for six years because of all the trauma healing I’ve had to do just to keep moving forward.

Did you know that just writing this blog post and making this decision to prioritize my book for the next four lunar cycles caused my knee and my leg to act up! Again! If you’ve followed me for a while, you know this is what happens when I try to move forward with this book. My inner parts and the fear they carry tend to show up in my body and most often, in my right hip and leg.

My Body, My Messenger

I’ve been hobbling around for the last couple days but I’m determined. Plus, I know how to tend to my leg and support my inner parts with the MAP Method and exercise so it’s all good. I can already tell this particular inner resistance that’s causing issues in my leg is once again rooted in my female lineage. There are just so many thoughts, energies and beliefs I carry in my body from all the women in my lineage who were never free to follow their creative dreeams and for some reason, I have to tend to them before I’m free to move forward. It used to frustrate me but now I understand that clearing generational trauma is just part of my creative journey. There’s no use fighting it. I might as well accept it even if I don’t always understand it.

Pausing Is Scary Sometimes

I know as a fellow entrepreneur, you understand what a BIG decision this is. Pausing something you’ve built momentum with is not a small thing, especially in a small business where every move you make impacts your income, audience, visibility, and your sense of “Will this still be here when I come back?”

In businesses like ours, there is very little that feels guaranteed. Every offering, post and launch feels like it matters. So choosing to stop, even temporarily, can feel like willingly stepping away from your own safety net. It’s vulnerable. It’s risky. And it definitely has not been an easy decision for me. I’m scared you won’t stay with me. I worry I’m making a mistake. There are judgments swimming around in my mind telling me I’m being inconsistent and unreliable.

But I also think there are moments in every creative business where you feel that standing on the edge of a cliff energy. It’s a moment where something inside you is quietly but firmly saying, It’s time to jump. It’s time to leap toward your destiny and toward the version of you that your younger self always hoped you would become. That’s what this decision feels like to me. I feel called to show my inner artist and all my inner child parts who have carried this dream for so long that I’m finally willing to choose them. I’m willing to risk being off the treadmill of content for a season so I can honour the work that is asking to be born through me.

Honoring Old Dreams

Part of this is rooted in a very old dream. When I was in grade one, I had this vision of making a hand-drawn activity book. Little me loved books and pictures and the idea of creating something that other people could hold in their hands and interact with. That desire never really left. It’s been quietly living in the background of my life this whole time. Every time I draw in my art journal, create a spell page, or make something that feels like a magical workbook, that first-grade dream wakes up a little.

The book I’m writing now is a continuation of that original desire. It’s me finally saying to that little girl, I remember what you wanted. I see you. And I am going to take this seriously now.” For me, that makes the risk worth it. Even if it’s scary and I don’t know exactly how it will all unfold. Honouring that dream feels more important than staying comfortable.

How I Plan to Stay in Touch

I want you to know that even though my regular weekly and daily rhythms will be on pause, I’m not disappearing. During these four lunar cycles, I plan to write to you every now and again to share how it’s going. I want to share the progress, wobbles, emotional waves and practical realities of devoting myself to a big creative project as a highly sensitive entrepreneur with a trauma history and a sensitive body.

Hopefully, I can bring you along on the journey of making this dream real. I want you to see the messy middle, the doubts, the small wins, the art spells that help, the days that feel magical and the days that feel awful because you have your own big, tender dreams too and I hope seeing me walk through mine will support you in walking through yours.

So my hope is that you’ll have the courage to stay tuned, even as my rhythm shifts. To stay connected to this space even while my weekly astrology updates are paused. To walk this four-lunation journey with me as I step into this hazy, uncertain, ethereal chapter and trust that something beautiful is taking shape. I’ll keep sharing glimpses from the path as I go. And when I return on the Aries new moon in April, my intention is to come back not just with a book that’s ready to celebrate, but with a deeper well of magic, wisdom, and lived experience to pour back into this community we’re creating together.

What’s Staying the Same

Even though my weekly and daily astrology and art magic updates will be on pause for a while, I’m not closing the doors of my business or disappearing into a cave completely. I’ll still be offering one-on-one sessions to help you grow yourself and your business. These are deep, tender spaces where we look at your chart, nervous system, inner parts, your art, your magic and your next steps together. That work is still very alive for me, and I’ll be continuing to hold those sessions throughout my creative break.

I’ll also still be hosting my weekly Creative Witch’s Business Coven gatherings every Wednesday morning from 11:00 am MT to 12:30 pm MT, and we’ll still be getting together in the coven for our new and full moon gatherings. Those circles feel like hearth fires to me because they are steady, nourishing and ongoing and I’m not putting those down. You are free to join us anytime. We’ll be happy to have you.

My Support Remains

I’ll also continue leading my small group program, “A Call to Grow,” and in fact, I’ll be opening a new round that will start on Monday, May 4, 2026. So if you want a small, intimate mastermind-style container with a Creative Witch as your guide where we weave business, magic, art, healing, and astrology together, keep that date in mind. I’ll be looking for four more people who want to go on another magical business-growing journey with me at that time.

So yes, some things are going quiet for a while. There will be no weekly blog or podcast and no daily moon-in-your-art-journal episodes but the deeper work continues. The coven continues. The one-on-one support continues. The small group journey continues. I’m simply gathering my creative energy in closer so I can pour it into my new book.

How to Harness the Magic of the Sagittarius New Moon in Your Art Journal

Of course, before I head on my creative break, I want to leave you with a little magic you can work with under this Sagittarius new moon. Even though this moon isn’t very grounded in practicalities or action, it’s beautiful for wandering around inside your imagination and letting your deeper longings rise to the surface.

This creative art ritual isn’t about making a plan or deciding what absolutely must happen in 2026. It’s more like visiting a dream space where you can try things on, feel into them and see how your heart and body respond to your dreams and longings without locking anything in stone just yet. We’re working with a moon that’s hazy, slow and a little disconnected from ordinary life so this ritual is meant to match that energy. It is a dreamy, playful and exploratory kind of art ritual.

Sagittarius New Moon Art Ritual: Entering Dream Space

Step 1 – Create a Dreams Space Page

Open your journal to a fresh spread and take a moment to breathe. This page is not for being practical. It’s a portal into the in-between and into the place where life doesn’t follow normal rules and you’re allowed to dream without committing.

Across the top of the page, write a title like:

  • “My Dream Space”
  • or “Things I’m Secretly Longing For”
  • or “If I Could Wave a Magic Wand…”

Let the title feel a bit rebellious and a bit magical. You’re telling your system, “This is not a to-do list. This is play.”

Step 2 – Invite Your Longings to Speak

Close your eyes and imagine that the outside world fades into the background for a little while. No responsibilities or expectations. Not even “how will this work?” questions. Just you, your inner world and the quiet voice of your longings.

Gently ask yourself:

  • “If nothing bad would happen…what would I secretly want more of in my life?”
  • “If my business could feel any way I wanted…what would I choose?”
  • “If I could live one year completely true to my heart…what would that look and feel like?”

Open your eyes and, without editing, start writing words and phrases around your page. Not sentences really, just little fragments. For example,

  • “slow mornings”
  • “more art, less rushing”
  • “a full coven that feels cozy”
  • “time to write”
  • “steady income, soft days”
  • “people who really get me”

Let the longings be unrealistic if they want to be. No one else has to see this.

Step 3 – Let Images and Colours Find You

Now, switch into image mode. Look at the words you’ve written and ask, “What colour does this feel like?” or “What shape would this be?” Maybe “rest” feels like blue waves. Maybe “being seen as an artist” feels like a bright yellow star. Maybe “feeling safe and supported” feels like a circle or a nest.

Add simple shapes, colours, little symbols or doodles around your words. You don’t have to make this pretty. Think of it more like you’re leaving clues on the page about what your heart wants. If you love collage, you can glue down small pictures or textures that match how these longings feel and enter that vision board kind of feeling.

Remember: this is not a vision board you have to live up to. It’s a playground for your desires. You’re letting your heart and soul speak to you without the pressure of having to make any of it a reality.

Step 4 – Write Your “What If” Questions

Let’s think about Sagittarius energy as questions and horizons so instead of writing firm intentions, let’s write “What if…” questions.

Some ideas:

  • “What if my business could grow in ways that supported my body instead of draining it?”
  • “What if making art was a normal part of my workday?”
  • “What if money and magic were allowed to sit at the same table?”
  • “What if I didn’t have to hustle to be worthy?”
  • “What if my work really helped the people who need it most?”

Write these questions around your page, maybe near the images or words they connect to. Let them feel open and curious.

Step 5 – Add a Gentle Spell

This moon is not about forcing outcomes so we’re going to add a little spell of no pressure to the page.

Somewhere on the art you created, write a short sentence like:

  • “These are my dreams, not my deadlines.”
  • “I am allowed to try on possibilities.”
  • “I’m exploring, not promising.”
  • “I release any pressure to make this happen right now.”

You can trace the words slowly, go over them in a favourite colour or put them in a small frame or banner on the page. This becomes the energetic boundary around your ritual and your system will understand that this is about exploring in a safe and easy way and nothing on this page is a demand.

Step 6 – Offer Your Page to Spirit

When you feel ready, place your hands gently on the page. Take a few breaths. You might say something out loud or silently such as…

These are some of the longings in my heart.
I don’t know which ones will grow and which ones will fall away.
I’m not asking for all of this to happen right now.
I’m just showing myself and Spirit what lives inside me.
Please guide me gently toward what is most true and kind for my life, body, business and the people I’m here to help.

Let your body notice how that feels. If emotion comes up, that’s okay. If nothing comes up, that’s okay too. You’re just letting your inner world and Spirit see each other more clearly.

Step 7 – Close the Page and Let It Breathe

When you’re done, you don’t have to finish the page. You can leave bits undone, blank spaces and half-formed images. That actually fits this dreamy, hazy new moon perfectly.

Gently close your journal and imagine that the page keeps working in the dark like a seed under soil. Over the next couple of weeks, you might get little nudges, images or ideas connected to what you put there. You don’t need to chase them just yet. Just notice and, if you want, jot them down.

This ritual is meant to match the mood of this Sagittarius new moon. It is soft, wandering and full of maybes. It’s a way of letting your deeper longings peek out and play for a while, without having to justify themselves or prove they’re realistic.

Just you, your art journal, your imagination and the part of you that still believes in possibilities.

Until April, enjoy the pause and I’ll see you once again with the weekly and daily astrology and art magic updates at the Aries new moon.
