Art Journal with the Moon: Themes and Prompts for November 11-17, 2024 | Prosperity Magic Under the Taurus Full Moon
In this post, I share a step-by-step process to perform a prosperity spell in your art journal under the Taurus full moon. I also share a summary of the moon for the week of November 11-17, 2024 as it moves through the zodiac and interacts with the planets.
The Moon This Week
This week, we greet the full moon in Taurus. In last week’s post, I shared step-by-step instructions to create a Tree of Manifestation in your art journal. You can read about that here. I think it would be a great page to charge in the light of the full moon so if you end up making one of those trees in your art journal, don’t forget to open to that page on Friday and let the moon’s beams charge your intentions while you sleep. This week, I want to share a prosperity spell you can perform in your art journal under the Taurus moon as well.
Before we get into how to work with the full moon in Taurus and your art journal to perform a prosperity spell, here is a more detailed summary of the moon’s energy this week, giving you an overview of what to expect as the moon moves through different signs and phases. However, if you’re looking for more specific ways to work with the moon’s energy each day, be sure to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok. There, in my videos and reels, I share daily art journal with the moon prompts that guide you in doing deep inner work or practicing manifestation magic in a creative way with the moon. You can also sign up here, to get reminders in your inbox of the moon’s energy for the upcoming week and how you can work with it in your art journal to practice folk magic, tend to your soul or do your deep inner work.
The week kicks off with the moon being in the sign of Pisces for most of the day on Monday which is good energy for reflection and inner work. Monday has traditionally been seen as “the moon’s day”—a day dedicated to reflection, intuition, and emotional care. Monday, ruled by the moon, holds a gentler, more nurturing energy than other days. It’s a time to slow down, tune in to your inner world, and give space to your feelings – unfortunately, not exactly in line if your work week starts on Monday so don’t be hard on yourself if you tend to feel spacey or unmotivated on Mondays. With the moon in Pisces, Monday takes on an even more mystical quality. Pisces is a water sign, connected with dreams, imagination, and deep compassion. This energy flows like a river, urging you to embrace the softer, more intuitive parts of yourself and to trust in what you feel even if you can’t see it clearly. In your art journal, do a little divination for the week ahead. Pull some tarot or oracle cards as you ask spirit for what you need to see about the week ahead, then draw, write or collage your impressions in your art journal.
On Tuesday, the gibbous moon is in the sign of Aries and having a happy relationship with the planet Mars. Tuesday is ruled by Mars, the planet of drive, determination, and assertiveness, making it a day designed to help us push forward, take initiative, and tackle our goals with confidence. With the moon in Aries—a sign also ruled by Mars—the energy becomes even more powerful, encouraging you to embrace your inner warrior, take decisive steps, and face life with boldness. The moon is having a happy relationship with Mars today, which amplifies this energy even further. It’s supportive energy that makes you feel aligned with your purpose and gives you the motivation and courage to act on what’s in your heart. Aries is all about fresh starts, and with Mars supporting it, you’re encouraged to focus on what you want and make it happen. Create a page that celebrates your inner fire—use bold colors, strong lines, or imagery that feels energizing. You might even want to write down an intention or goal you’re ready to take action on, letting the Aries energy inspire you to commit fully. Ask yourself, What am I ready to begin? What do I need courage for right now?
On Wednesday, the gibbous moon is in the sign of Aries and it is having a happy relationship with the planet Jupiter. Jupiter represents growth, optimism, and the desire to explore beyond our usual limits. Aries energy is all about initiation and taking the lead, while Gemini, where Jupiter is right now, brings the energy of exploration, communication, and quick thinking. This combination can feel like a burst of fresh ideas and new possibilities, making it a great day to be open to inspiration and explore new ways of expressing yourself. In your art journal, try expressing yourself with an art technique you haven’t tried before.
With the gibbous moon in the sign of Taurus having a happy relationship with the planet Venus, Thursday offers the opportunity to focus on beauty, love, and the sense of security that comes from truly stable, nurturing relationships. Taurus and Venus together create an energy that speaks to the heart of what it means to feel safe, loved, and valued. In relationships, secure attachment gives you that steady, unshakable foundation—a deep inner knowing that you are safe and supported, no matter what. This connection fosters trust, emotional stability, and a strong sense of self-worth. In your art journal, work with this energy by creating a page that celebrates the people in your life who offer you this stable, loving presence, and reflect on how these connections make you feel secure, loved, and appreciated. Use symbols or colors that feel comforting and warm, and perhaps add words or images that represent stability, trust, and genuine love. Ask yourself, How do these relationships bring me peace? What beauty do I see in the bonds that make me feel safe and valued?
On Friday, we greet the full moon in Taurus and with it comes a deeply grounded, earthy energy—one that calls for stability, abundance, and a nurturing connection to all that makes you feel secure. But this Taurus full moon has an added layer of excitement and potential because it’s in an intense relationship with Uranus, the planet of sudden change, innovation, and breakthroughs. This Uranian influence stirs up the traditional steady energy of Taurus, inviting you to embrace not only the beauty of slow, intentional growth but also the thrill of fresh ideas, sudden insights, and the courage to break free from old patterns that may be holding you back. In last week’s blog post, I shared a step-by-step guide to creating a Tree of Manifestation in your art journal to work with this energy, helping you visualize and grow the changes you want to see in your life. Below, in this week’s post, I’ve provided another option—a prosperity spell specifically designed to tap into the abundant energy of this Taurus full moon. This spell uses the power of art journaling to attract abundance, security, and the prosperity you wish to welcome into your life. I encourage you to think about which of these practices resonates most with you for this full moon. Do you feel drawn to the steady, grounded growth of the Tree of Manifestation, or are you ready to dive into the magnetic, attracting energy of the prosperity spell? Either way, these exercises are designed to help you channel the Taurus full moon’s energy in your own creative, magical way. Once you’re done, remember to set your art journal open to the page you created and place it under the full moon’s light, allowing this lunar energy to charge and bless your work.
Saturday’s moon is in the sign of Gemini. Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury so the moon is carrying a little of that planet’s energy as well. Gemini energy is adaptable, flexible and brings swiftness and movement. It sometimes can bring energy that feels frantic or unstable as well as scattered, inconsistent, unreliable or unfocused but it is also dynamic, versatile, communicative, multifaceted, friendly and curious with the capacity to change and be interested in many different things which means it sees the good in people and the possibilities in experiences. Try to think of something in your life you want to move more swiftly. Perhaps it’s a challenging experience that you would like to process or move through more quickly. Perhaps it’s a dream you’d like to draw more closely to you. With ease and grace, what is one thing in your life you hope shifts or changes quickly and easily?
The week wraps up on Sunday with the moon in Gemini having an intense relationship with Jupiter and an opposing relationship with Mercury. Jupiter, the planet of expansion and belief, amplifies Gemini’s curiosity, encouraging you to think big, dream wide, and embrace new possibilities. However, with Jupiter’s influence, it’s easy to feel a bit scattered or overwhelmed by ideas, especially when mixed with Mercury’s opposing energy. There may be an impulse to explore multiple directions at once, yet it can be challenging to focus and make sense of it all. This is a great time to capture a “map” of your thoughts, letting yourself brainstorm freely, knowing you’ll refine and organize them later. Let your art journal hold all the mixed energies, allowing them to find their own harmony on the page.
Remember, the moon’s energy is here to support you in embracing who you truly are. By art journaling with the lunar energy this week, you’re not only connecting with the rhythms of nature but also nurturing your soul and manifesting the changes you really want to see in your life so you can more fully align with your true self.
Now let’s look at performing a prosperity spell in your art journal with the full moon in Taurus.
Qualities of the Taurus Full Moon
The Taurus full moon brings a grounding, stabilizing energy that invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and connect with what truly matters. Spiritually, this full moon centers on themes of comfort, security, and appreciating the simple, beautiful things in life. Taurus energy is steady, earthy, and rooted in the present moment, encouraging you to savor what you have and find gratitude in the here and now. Emotionally, this full moon can feel calming and nurturing, offering a sense of safety and stability that allows you to reflect on what makes you feel truly secure, both within and around you.
Under the Taurus full moon, you’re invited to assess where you might need more balance between enjoying life’s pleasures and creating practical, long-term security. It’s a wonderful time to reflect on your values and priorities, asking yourself if your life is in alignment with them. You might feel a stronger connection to nature, a desire to create a cozy, comforting environment, or a need to nurture relationships that bring you peace and fulfillment. This moon is all about grounding yourself, slowing down, and focusing on building a life that feels rich, stable, and satisfying on a deep level.
What Uranus Adds to the Full Moon
Under this Taurus full moon, there’s a special twist of energy because the moon is also in a close relationship with Uranus, the planet of sudden change, freedom, and unpredictability. With Uranus in the mix, there’s a spark of excitement and potential for unexpected shifts. Uranus adds an electric, awakening quality to the full moon, inviting you to look at your life with fresh eyes and to consider where you might need to break free from routines or patterns that feel stagnant or outdated.
Emotionally, you might feel a mix of calm and restlessness—a desire for comfort and stability but also a nudge to break out of your comfort zone. Uranus encourages you to be open to insights, revelations, or sudden ideas that could change how you see things. This full moon is a powerful time to reflect on areas where you feel “stuck” and to envision how you can bring more freedom, excitement, or authenticity into those areas of your life. Taurus full moon with Uranus’s influence might be asking you to ground yourself while also making room for unexpected change, giving you both the stability and the courage to explore new possibilities – kind of like how secure attachment helps you feel safe enough to shine.
Working With This Energy to Invoke Prosperity
Taurus is naturally connected to abundance, stability, and material comfort—it’s a sign that knows how to appreciate and attract the good things in life. But with Uranus adding its touch to the full moon, there’s an extra boost of innovation and potential for breakthrough moments. This combination can help you expand your view of prosperity, not just in terms of material wealth, but in all the ways abundance can flow into your life.
This moon’s energy is great to work with if you’re ready to break free from old, limiting beliefs about money or resources. Uranus helps to shake loose any patterns of lack or scarcity that may be holding you back, while Taurus grounds those intentions into the physical realm. Think of this energy as a powerful mix of stability and change. Tune in to see if it’s accurate for you but I think this might be some great supportive energy to help you manifest what you truly value while encouraging you to be open to new and unexpected ways that prosperity might arrive.
In your art journal, focus on calling in abundance that feels freeing, supportive, and aligned with who you are becoming. Visualize yourself rooted and steady, like a Taurus bull, while allowing yourself to be inspired by fresh ideas or surprises (courtesy of Uranus!).
A Creative Prosperity Spell
Here’s a special prosperity spell I created that you can perform in your art journal with the full moon in Taurus. Alternatively, you can perform this spell in your art journal before the full moon then charge it under the full moon on Friday. Do whatever works for you.
Using your art journal as a magical space, let’s work with simple symbols and imagery that represent wealth, comfort, and security, allowing you to set powerful intentions for the prosperity you wish to attract. All you need is your journal, a few basic art supplies, and a willingness to open yourself to the blessings this full moon has to offer.
Step One – Light a Candle and Release
Light a candle to create a sacred atmosphere and set your intention for the spell.
Open your art journal to a fresh, clean page—a blank canvas ready to hold your intentions. Take a moment to center yourself, breathing deeply and connecting with your inner self. Begin by painting counterclockwise spirals across the background of your page in colors that represent prosperity to you.
As you prepare to paint each spiral, pause and reflect on a specific thought, idea, belief, pattern, or energy that you’re ready to release. Perhaps it’s a lingering fear that’s been holding you back, a doubt about your worthiness, a habit that no longer serves you, or any negative energy that feels heavy on your spirit.
Be intentional and mindful—don’t paint a spiral until you’ve identified what you want to let go of.
As you gently move your brush in a counterclockwise motion to create the spiral, imagine unraveling and releasing that specific burden from your life. Feel the weight lifting off your shoulders as the spiral unfolds on the page. Let the act of painting become a physical manifestation of your inner cleansing—a way to transfer and transform these obstacles onto the paper.
Allow yourself to fully experience any emotions that arise during this process. It’s okay to feel sadness, relief, or even uncertainty. Acknowledge these feelings with compassion.
Continue this process with each spiral, taking your time and honoring each release. By the time you’ve filled the background with these spirals, you’ve not only created a piece of art but also initiated a powerful ritual of letting go. This practice helps clear away the internal obstacles that may have been blocking the flow of prosperity into your life. Each spiral is a step closer to aligning with your true self and making room for the abundance you deserve. Trust in the process, and know that you’re actively participating in your own transformation.
Step Two – Paint a Full Moon as You Invoke Support
Next, I invite you to paint a big, radiant full moon that takes up most of your page. Imagine this moon symbolizes fullness, abundance, and the luminous energy you’re calling into your life with the prosperity you’re asking for. As you begin to paint this large circle, move your brush in a clockwise direction, representing the flow of positive energy and the attraction of prosperity.
While you’re painting, take a moment to connect deeply with the supportive forces around you.
This is a sacred time to invite any deities, spirit allies, elements, or natural forces that resonate with you to join in your prosperity spell.
You might call upon the nurturing energy of Mother Earth, the guiding light of ancestral spirits, or the protective embrace of a deity who holds special meaning for you. Perhaps you feel a connection to the elements—earth, air, fire, water and spirit—or to the directions—north, south, east, and west. Maybe there are planets and archetypes that resonate with prosperity for you. Maybe there are qualities you want to invoke and call in within yourself.
As you paint the moon in clockwise circles, feel the presence of these supportive energies. Imagine their strength and blessings flowing into the moon you’re creating. Whisper their names softly, or simply hold their essence in your heart. This is your personal journey, and there is no right or wrong way to welcome these forces into your work.
Allow yourself to be fully present in this moment. Feel the texture of the paint, the movement of your hand, and the emotion within you. This isn’t just about painting a circle; it’s about forming a partnership with the universe. You’re co-creating a powerful symbol of your intentions, infused with the energy of the allies you’ve invited.
Embrace any feelings that arise—joy, hope, anticipation—and let them flow into your artwork.
Step Three – Draw Your Prosperity Coin
Now, in the heart of the big, luminous moon you’ve painted, draw a coin. This coin symbolizes the specific amount of money you’d like to welcome into your life before the next new moon arrives in about two weeks. Take a moment to reflect on this amount—choose a sum that feels both exciting and attainable to you.
As you begin to draw the coin, allow your creativity to flow. This isn’t just any coin; it’s a unique representation of your prosperity. Consider incorporating meaningful symbols or designs that resonate with you. You might create a sigil—a personal symbol infused with your intention—for the center of the coin. Perhaps you adorn the edges with plants known for their association with wealth and growth.
Think about adding elements that carry magical significance for you.
Maybe you include the phases of the moon around the coin’s perimeter, or inscribe empowering words or affirmations along the border. As you embellish your coin, infuse it with your hopes, your confidence, and your belief in your ability to receive the money you’re asking for.
This process is more than artistic expression; it’s a heartfelt dialogue between you and the universe. As you draw and decorate your coin, visualize the money flowing into your life with ease and grace. Feel the emotions of gratitude and excitement as if it’s already on its way to you. By the time you’ve completed your coin, it will be a powerful talisman, a visual affirmation of your intention to attract prosperity.
Step Four – Write Reasons Why Around Your Coin
With a pen or marker and, starting from the inside edge of the moon you’ve painted, begin a journey of words that spiral inward toward your coin. Move your pen in a clockwise direction, symbolizing the act of calling something into your life. As you write each sentence, think deeply about all the reasons it’s possible for you to receive this money in the next two weeks.
Perhaps you acknowledge your skills and talents that make you valuable. Maybe you recall opportunities that are on the horizon or the hard work you’ve been putting into a project. Write about the support you have from loved ones, the universe, or the spirit allies you’ve invited into this process.
As you continue writing, let your words spiral around and around, gradually moving toward the center of the moon where your coin resides. This spiral is not just a pattern—it’s a pathway of intention, drawing your desires closer to you. Allow your thoughts to flow freely, without judgment or doubt. This is a space for building up your belief in what’s possible.
Fill the entire moon with your writing, letting the words become a powerful visual affirmation. As the spiral tightens toward the coin, feel your conviction strengthening. You’re not just writing reasons; you’re weaving a tapestry of belief that connects your intentions with tangible outcomes.
Imagine that each word carries energy, collectively creating a magnetic force that pulls prosperity toward you. By the time you reach the coin at the center, you’ve created a concentrated focal point of intention. The coin now sits at the heart of your affirmations, surrounded and energized by your unwavering belief in your ability to receive.
As you look upon the filled moon, see it as a reflection of your inner world, now aligned with the prosperity you desire. You’ve transformed the page into a living spell.
Step Five – Close with Gratitude
Once you’ve filled the moon with your writing, take a moment to express gratitude to the forces of love and magic that are assisting you. Blow out the candle as a way of sealing your spell and giving thanks.
Step Six – Charge Your Spell Under the Moonlight
Place your art journal page under the full moon’s light, either by a window or outside in a safe spot. Allow the moon’s energy to charge your spell while you sleep.
