February new moon 2021

Dana’s Moon Page for the New Moon in February 2021

Use the energy of the new moon in February to let love rain down on you!

Reflect

I must confess, I felt like this particular journal page came about magically. I had no idea the new moon was in Aquarius when I created this page nor did I know that the sign of Aquarius is known as the water bearer. After I drew the outline for the page, I was scrolling online to read about the new moon from astrologers and I kept seeing a jar with water coming out of it which reminded me of what I sketched out.

Later in the week, I met a friend on Zoom and, as we talked, I colored in my new moon page. She couldn’t see what I was working on but at some point in our conversation she shared her wish for me. She spoke of the angels pouring love down over me like water. I had to show her what I was working on because she seemed to be perfectly describing my moon page.

These simple synchronicities made me feel connected to my angel Cassandra and Great Mother. I realized they are always raining love down on me – even when I can’t see or feel it.

There is an important distinction I’d like to make about Cassandra’s and Great Mother’s love. First of all, I see Cassandra as my guardian angel. She feels like a mentor or a teacher to me. Her love for me has been unconditional, constant, ever-present, dependable and pure. She has taught me that I am loveable just as I am. I am loveable despite when I am wrong. I am loveable despite my flaws and my mistakes and the way I screw up and hurt people without meaning to. I am loveable when I fail. I am loveable when I succeed. I do not know how to love myself the way she loves me yet but I am learning. Her love, though, feels manageable and reachable. My heart can accept her love.

Great Mother’s love feels different to me. It feels so big my heart doesn’t know how to take it in. Whenever it appears, I cry. I don’t know how to let Her love in yet. Whenever I feel it, I am awed by the enormity of it. My heart doesn’t know how to accept it yet. I want to but I’m just not there yet.

I am not concerned about whether or not Cassandra or Great Mother are real. What matters to me is what they teach me about love and what I’ve learned over the years is there is so much Love here for us. We are loved – deeply.  I can try to understand that love with my brain. I can try to describe that love with my words but feeling that love is where the magic (and the medicine) is.

In the spirit of this magic, I thought we could use the energy of this Aquarian new moon to focus on feeling loved.

If you are not on my email list and haven’t received this month’s moon page, visit my homepage and sign up. You’ll receive a link where you can download the hand-drawn page I created for this particular moon. Print it, grab a tea and a cozy blanket, get comfortable then follow the instructions below.

If moon rituals are familiar to you, prepare your sacred space and invite Spirit to join you in whatever way works best for you.

If, however, you are new to moon rituals, I’ve included a quick guide to the steps I follow to prepare for my moon rituals in a past blog post. Take a look at it before moving forward.

Print out the February new moon journal page.

Set a timer for 5 minutes.

Close your eyes and think of all the people you love. Try to think of as many people as you can but do it slowly one person at a time and allow yourself to feel the love you have for them before you move onto the next person.

When your five minutes are up, set a timer for another 5 minutes.

Close your eyes and think of all the places on earth or animals you love. Think of rooms and buildings or forests and lakes or think of pets or animal friends you’ve had throughout your life. Try to think of as many places or animals that you love as you can but do it slowly, one place or one animal at a time and allow yourself to feel the love you have for that place or animal before you move onto the next place or animal.

When your five minutes are up, set a timer for another 5 minutes.

Close your eyes and try to feel the love people, animals, nature or the Divine has for you. Just explore what it feels like to let someone or something love you. How far do you let that love in? How much love can your heart accept?

When you are done, in the water that is flowing from the jar on the moon page, write how you think your life would change if you felt loved in every moment of your life. What areas of your life would change if you felt loved in every moment? What choices might you make differently if you felt loved in every moment? Complete the sentiment, if I felt loved in every moment of my life, I would __________________.

If you end up completing this spiritual art ritual, I’d love to hear how it went. You can even take a picture of a part of your process and share it on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #danasmoonpages or email me at support@danadaponte.com and share with me how it went for you. It’s fun for me to know there are others out there enjoying the moon with me.

with love,
