Art Journal with the Moon: Themes and Prompts for April 7-13, 2025

In this post, I share a summary of the moon for the week of April 7-13, 2025 as it moves through the zodiac and interacts with the planets. I also talk about working with Goddess energy to grow your business or heal your relationships.

Goddess Timing

We’re being gifted a lot of Venus energy to work with again this week. Last week, I spoke about how Venus and the moon are both deeply connected to your ability to receive and especially feel worthy of receiving. Venus shows us what we value and how open we are to attracting the good things in life that we want while the moon reflects how safe and supported we feel to attract and receive.

Do you feel safe enough to open to receive?

Venus is bright in the sky. She’s emanating compassion, beauty, love, connection and reminding you that you deserve to pause and fill your cup and make sure you’re replenished before moving forward.

The full moon in Libra on Saturday amplifies a lot of this beautiful Venus energy.

To me, Venus energy is Goddess energy and the moon is shining bright and full in the part of the sky where she’s all alone except for one powerful companion: the star Spica. As my astrology teacher Kelly Surtees shared, this star is full of Goddess energy as well. It sits in the hand of the harvest goddess in the Virgo constellation and has long been associated with protection, brilliance, and wisdom and especially the kind that artists, scientists, and deep thinkers offer the world.

It’s like the moon is standing apart from the noise of everyday life, offering a lone voice of clarity. This clarity is coming from a woman with something wise, bright, and needed to say.

With the moon in Libra, this brings up themes of balance, justice, fairness, and our relationships and especially in the Libra part of your chart.

In your life, which relationship is it time to re-evaluate?

Whether it’s relationships at work, friendships, clients, community, or partners, this moon invites you to see things clearly and step into a more aligned way of being with others and with yourself.

The ruler of this Full Moon, Venus, is also doing something rare and special. On the same day as the full moon, Venus is stationing direct in Pisces, the sign where she’s most exalted. She’s not quite moving forward yet, but she’s shining brightly and emanating her beautiful light. This is a reminder to pause, replenish, and let yourself be refilled with inspiration and compassion before you leap into action.

You might be reconnecting with people or parts of yourself that bring joy, rediscovering rituals or relationships you love, or feeling forgiveness and healing stir in your heart and I hope that is the case because it sounds lovely, doesn’t it?

This is a moon that reminds you: your voice matters, your wisdom is a gift, and doing relationships or business the Goddess way (softly, slowly, intuitively, and with grace) is not only possible, but blessed.

The Goddess Way

To me, growing your business the Goddess way means you start by coming home to what really matters to you and not just on the surface matters to you, but deep down in your heart and soul what really matters to you.

You lead from your values, your intuition, and the quiet knowing inside you. You invite spirit into your business and your relationships. You treat yourself like you’re sacred because you are. You honor your limitations without making them wrong. You let your business care for you, not just the other way around. You build it slowly, gently, and in rhythm with your capacity and in honor and respect for any emotional or physical limitations you might have.

You make room for joy and pleasure, because those are powerful forms of nourishment. You build community. You prioritize relationships and you care for your community and you reach out and let your community care for you. You speak kindly to yourself. You ask your ancestors and spirit allies for help because you know you’re not alone. You look to the moon and stars for guidance, and you let your own inner compass lead the way.

This way of doing business may be a lot softer but it is no less powerful.

It’s especially supportive if, like me, you’re highly sensitive or grew up in an environment where your needs weren’t fully seen or met. It’s a way of creating success that doesn’t retraumatize you. Instead, it heals you. It reminds you that you’re allowed to take up space, move at your own pace, and grow something real and meaningful by being exactly who you are.

During the Full Moon on Saturday

Think of this full moon like a portal or a moment to step back and ask if the way you’re experiencing your relationships or the way you’re running your business truly reflects your values, your energy, and the kind of life you want to build. Let the moon illuminate what’s out of alignment, not with judgment, but with curiosity and compassion.

Ask yourself:

  • What would it feel like to run your business like a prayer?
  • What do beauty, pleasure, and reciprocity look like in your relationships or in your work?
  • Where are you being invited to soften, simplify, or let go of the pressure to prove something?
  • What does balance mean for your emotional and creative energy this month?

You can take these questions into your art journal and let the moon speak to you through color, shape, and feeling. Try drawing a set of scales and on one side, write or draw what a relationship you want to focus on or what your business currently looks like then on the other page, draw what your soul is asking for.

Let yourself feel the contrast.

Paint or collage with soft blues, pinks, or dreamy watery tones to connect with Venus in Pisces.

And if it calls to you, add an image of a Goddess, Priestess, or a magical guide. Invite spirit to join you in your art journal. Imagine someone who represents the part of you that already knows how to lead your relationships, your business and your life in the Goddess way.

Let the Goddess Guide Your Business

If this full moon is stirring a desire within you to work differently, to lead with softness and intention, to let the Goddess guide your business, I want to introduce you to something I’ve poured my heart into.

The Creative Witch’s Monthly Guide to Growing Your Business with the Moon and Stars

It’s a hand-illustrated workbook that helps you grow your business in rhythm with the moon, the sun, and your own inner wisdom. It’s gentle, creative, and deeply supportive. It’s a little like a monthly ritual in print.

It’s soft. It’s beautiful. It’s structured in a gentle, step-by-step way so you don’t have to think too hard or figure everything out alone. You just turn the page and follow along.

Each month, this guide gives you a place to check in and not just with your business, but with yourself. You slow down. You take a breath. You notice how you’re really feeling, what you actually have the capacity for, and what your business is asking for next.

You let the moon and the stars help you find your rhythm. You remember that you’re allowed to grow slowly, intuitively, in partnership with nature and your own energy. You make space for what matters most. And over time, something shifts and it shifts not because you pushed harder or hustled more, but because you started working with your energy instead of against it.

There’s something really sacred about that.

After getting sick more than a decade ago, I had to completely change the way I lived and worked. I couldn’t keep up with the pace of the world around me anymore. I didn’t have the same physical or emotional capacity and I still don’t. But I knew even though my capacity changed, I still needed to make a living from my intuitive and creative gifts. Plus, my soul still had so much it felt called to do.

So I started building a business that worked with my body, my sensitivity, my truth. I leaned into rhythm, ritual, and spiritual support. I let the moon, the sun, and my inner knowing show me the way. And that’s what this guidebook captures.

This isn’t just a planner. It’s more than a productivity tool. It’s a reflection of a way of being in business that’s rooted in trust, magic, and self-compassion.

I spend time planning, considering, and creating each page carefully so that you don’t have to worry about what to do or when to do it. All you have to do is open the guide, follow along, and let it support you. It’s structured but gentle. Thoughtful but not overwhelming. It walks you gently through the month with intention, helping you stay connected to your deeper purpose and your sacred path.

I hand-illustrated it because I wanted it to feel beautiful. I wanted it to feel like a little altar you can hold in your hands. I want it to remind you that your business can be a spell, a prayer, a creative act of devotion. A reflection of your soul.

If you’re longing for a way to grow your business that honors your sensitivity… that makes space for your body, your emotions, your spiritual path… that gives you support without pressure… I made this for you.

And I would be so honored for you to check it out and see if you feel drawn to it too (excuse the pun).

Monday

The week kicks off with the moon being in the sign of Leo and having a happy relationship with Jupiter on Monday.

When the moon is in a happy relationship with Jupiter like it is today, you’re in for a treat! This kind of relationship between Jupiter and the moon is known for bringing a wave of optimism, growth, and good fortune into your life. Jupiter is often called the planet of luck and expansion, and its influence can make you feel more hopeful and generous. Emotionally, this connection can lift your spirits and encourage you to see the positive aspects of any situation.

Spiritually, the moon and Jupiter enhance your sense of faith and your connection to the bigger picture of your life. It’s a perfect time to embrace new opportunities that can lead to personal growth and increased understanding of your place in the world.

Use this time to soak up this good energy and find your positive, optimistic side. It’s also an excellent time to set intentions because Jupiter’s benevolent influence can help manifest your desires into your reality. Let yourself be guided by the expansive and optimistic vibes and pay attention to see what blessings the universe conspires to send your way.

The energy between the moon and Jupiter also creates a soothing balm that can be incredibly beneficial for you, especially if you’re highly sensitive and feeling the weight of the world’s tension and chaos. Today is a pause for positivity and resilience that can help you navigate through tougher times.

As a highly sensitive person, you probably feel the collective energy more acutely, which can sometimes be overwhelming. However, the moon’s happy relationship with Jupiter gives you this moment of reprieve, a chance to recharge your emotional batteries by embracing the more joyful, optimistic side of life. It encourages you to focus on the silver linings, the growth opportunities, and the potential blessings that exist even amidst chaos.

Use this time to deliberately seek out and soak up what makes you feel good. Whether it’s through meditation, spending time in nature, or creating pages in your art journal that bring you joy, these moments of goodness are crucial. They not only offer immediate relief but also build your emotional resilience, preparing you to handle future challenges with a stronger, more hopeful outlook. This nurturing energy is a gift; embrace it to sustain your spirit and maintain your inner peace during the more turbulent times.

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents all the good things in your life right now.

Tuesday

On Tuesday, the gibbous moon is in the sign of Virgo.

Virgo is ruled by the planet Mercury so it’s carrying a little of that planet’s energy as well.

Virgo energy is nocturnal and of the earth. It is mutable and versatile. It supports you in being efficient and organized. It wants to help you find the most effective way of doing things. It brings practicality, attention to detail, a love of quality and precision but it can cause you to get lost in the details.

When the moon is in Virgo, it’s the perfect time for review and adjustments.

Do you like what you’ve been creating in your life lately?

You’re not in control of creating everything you experience in your life but of the things you do have control over, which situations and experiences that you’ve been creating do you enjoy and which situations and experiences have you not been enjoying?

If you don’t like what you’re creating, what adjustments can you make?

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents an adjustment you want to make in your life this week.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, the gibbous moon in Virgo is having a tense relationship with Jupiter who is in the sign of Gemini.

This kind of energy can feel like your inner perfectionist is bumping up against your big dreams. Virgo wants to get every little detail just right because it’s focused, practical, and loves to improve and refine.

Jupiter in Gemini, on the other hand, is full of ideas, curious questions, and the urge to explore all the possibilities at once. So when these two energies are at odds, you might feel scattered, overwhelmed by details, or like your to-do list is pulling you in too many directions.

The gibbous moon is about adjustment and fine-tuning, just like Virgo is so it’s amplifying this energy. It’s the part of the lunar cycle where you start to see what’s working and what’s not before the full moon shines its light. So if you’re feeling pressure today to figure everything out or make something perfect, know that it’s just the moon stirring up that inner tension between wanting to get things done right and wanting to do all the things. This is a great moment to pause and ask yourself what truly needs your attention and what might just be noise and also to check in and consider what is a priority and what is not as important to you as you once thought it was.

In your art journal today, try this prompt: Where am I trying to do too much, and what do I actually want to focus on right now?

You might want to create a page that helps you sort through the clutter so make two sides, one for “mental clutter” and one for “soulful focus.” Let your journal hold the contrast between pressure and purpose, and see what clarity comes through as you create.

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image on one page to represent your mental clutter than on the other page create an image to represent what your soul wants to focus on.

Thursday

On Thursday, the gibbous moon moves from the sign of Virgo to Libra but as it does it opposes planets in the later part of Pisces which feels significant to me. Last week, on the same day (Thursday), I talked about that space between Pisces and Aries and how it’s a sacred point on the zodiac. The moon isn’t in that area like it was last week but today it’s drawing down energy from that area again because it’s opposing it. You might also want to read last week’s post on Thursday as well. You can read that here.

Mercury, Venus and Saturn are all gathered in the later degrees of Pisces. That’s a lot of emotional and spiritual energy coming at us. With Virgo and Pisces sitting opposite each other in the zodiac, the moon today is reflecting a deep tension between the practical and the mystical, the grounded and the dreamy, the need to sort things out and the urge to just let it all be.

Virgo wants order, clarity, and precision. Pisces wants to surrender, trust, and float. When these energies pull in opposite directions, it can feel like part of you wants to make a clear plan while another part wants to nap, cry, or write poetry about your feelings instead. You might feel torn between taking care of details and listening to your soul or being hard on yourself and pushing yourself versus relaxing and letting go.

Oppositions offer moments of reflection and confrontation. They help you see clearly by showing you what’s causing friction and revealing what was once hidden. And today, as the moon moves from Virgo into Libra later in the day, it feels like a softening. Libra brings a desire for balance, peace, and connection. So while the first part of the day may stir up internal pressure or emotional fog, by the evening you might feel more ready to find middle ground.

In your art journal today, try this prompt: What am I trying to control or fix that really needs compassion instead?

Let yourself reflect on where you’re pushing too hard or overthinking, and gently explore what it would look like to trust yourself more or soften your grip. You might create a page with two halves; one for “what I’m trying to control” and one for “what I’m ready to let go, trust and surrender.” Let the moon help you sort, soothe, and shift.

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents what you’re trying to control versus what you’re ready to let go, trust and surrender.

Friday

On Friday, the gibbous moon in Libra is having a happy relationship with Pluto.

This feels like supportive energy, especially when it comes to transformation, empowerment, and emotional clarity in relationships.

Libra is a sign that values harmony, beauty, and fairness, especially in relationships, while Pluto brings depth, truth, and the kind of deep inner foundation change that helps you step more fully into your power. When they’re working together like this, you might feel a gentle but powerful pull to look at your patterns in relationships or your people-pleasing tendencies and start to shift them in a way that allows you to be more authentic and true to YOU.

Think of Pluto as representing the hidden forces within you. Imagine it represents those deep emotional layers, past experiences, or unconscious habits that are ready to be unearthed and transformed. The moon reflects these hidden, subconscious, unearthed habits back to you today in a way that’s grounded and emotionally manageable. You might not feel dramatic or overwhelmed, but you could feel quietly clear, as if you suddenly see something about yourself or your relationships that you hadn’t noticed before, and now that you do, you’re ready to change it.

In your art journal, try this prompt: What truth about myself or my relationships am I ready to see and gently transform?

Show the version of you who’s ready to rise with more self-respect, balance, and personal power.

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents the version of you who is ready to rise with more self-respect, balance and personal power.

Saturday

On Saturday, we greet the full moon in Libra.

This weekend’s full moon in Libra is shining with a quiet, radiant power. At least that’s how I imagine it to be.

Libra is the sign of harmony, balance, justice, and relationships so this full moon highlights the ways you show up for others and the ways you people are showing up for you. But what makes this particular moon even more special is that it’s rising beside the fixed star Spica, a point in the sky long associated with divine feminine wisdom, artistry, and brilliance. It’s like the moon is standing in a sacred temple space, away from the usual noise, holding a soft but steady light to remind you who you are and what truly matters. You may feel a moment of clarity or gentle insight around how you relate to others, and more importantly, how you relate to yourself when you’re connecting with others.

Which relationships support your values, and which might need to shift so you can come into deeper alignment with your soul?

At the same time, Venus, the ruler of this full moon, is doing something rare and beautiful. She’s stationing direct in Pisces, her sign of exaltation, where she is dreamy, intuitive, spiritually open, and deeply compassionate. Even though she isn’t moving forward yet, her energy is strong and bright. When Venus stations, it’s a powerful invitation to pause and receive and to let beauty, softness, and connection be your medicine.

You might be reconnecting with someone you love, rediscovering something creative or spiritual that inspires you, or simply finding a new depth of tenderness within yourself. This full moon reminds you that you don’t have to push. You can grow your business, your relationships, and your dreams in a way that honors your softness. You can lead with your soul. And let’s not forget that’s especially important if you’re highly sensitive or healing from childhood situations where your needs weren’t honored.

This moon is saying: your pace, your way and YES, your presence is sacred.

In your art journal, you can celebrate and reflect under this moon with a simple but powerful two-page spread.

On a two page spread, draw a set of Libra’s scales with one side of the scale on one page and the other scale on the other page. On one side of the scale, represent a relationship or your current business life and what it looks or feels like to you now. On the other page and the other side of the scale, draw or paint what your soul is quietly asking for.

What would feel more balanced, more soulful, or more aligned with your truth?

Let the contrast of what you’re experiencing now and what you want to be experiencing be clear without judgment. Just notice with honest what comes up for you. Use soft colors like gentle blues, watery pinks, or dreamy purples to connect with Venus in Pisces, and maybe add an image of a goddess or spiritual figure who feels wise and loving to you. Ask her to guide you. The full moon is a portal of insight so ask:

What is out of alignment in my relationships or work?

What needs to shift to reflect the life I want to create?

What does it mean to lead with love, grace, and wisdom?

Let your page hold your prayer.

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that explores how balanced and aligned you feel to your truth in a certain relationship in your life or in your career or work life.

Sunday

On Sunday, the moon in Scorpio is having a tense relationship with Pluto.

Even though it’s no longer the official full moon moment, the moon is still in its full phase. It’s moving out of Libra and into the sign of Scorpio, which gives the moon a deeper, more intense emotional tone.

When the moon is full and in Scorpio, it tends to stir up what’s hidden beneath the surface. It pulls up those deeper feelings, fears, or longings that you might normally keep tucked away. And because it’s having a tense relationship with Pluto today, there’s an added layer of emotional pressure. Pluto is the planet of transformation and power, so this square can feel like a bit of an emotional push. It might feel like something inside you wants to shift, but it might not feel super comfortable at first.

This kind of moon energy is really good for going inward and being honest with yourself. It’s not the kind of day for sugarcoating things. Instead, it’s a time to ask yourself:

What do I need to face, feel, or release in order to move forward with more clarity and truth?

Scorpio helps you feel your emotions with depth, and Pluto gives you the courage to transform what isn’t working anymore. It might not feel light or easy, but it can be powerful and freeing if you lean in with compassion and curiosity.

In your art journal, try this prompt: What am I afraid to let go of, and what power could I reclaim if I did?

You might want to work with darker colors or create a page that feels layered or shadowy to represent the things you’re ready to bring into the light. Let your page help you move through any fear or resistance, and remind yourself that facing what’s hard is a sacred part of the healing journey.

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents a hard truth about yourself or your circumstances that you’re ready to face now.

with love,
