Art Journal with the Moon: Themes and Prompts for March 31-April 6, 2025

In this post, I share a summary of the moon for the week of March 31 – April 6, 2025 as it moves through the zodiac and interacts with the planets. I also talk about working in your art journal with the beautiful energy Venus is drawing down to us this week.

Eclipse Magic

Before I get into the themes of the moon this week, I want to share the magic that found me on the eclipse.

On the day of the new moon solar eclipse in Aries, I had a session with an energy healer I’m just beginning to build a relationship with. As many of you know, finding the right support for my highly sensitive system has been a long journey. It’s been over two years of searching and trying to find someone who can meet the unique needs of my body and energy field. I’m not sure yet if I’ve found the right fit, but I do know something remarkable happened during our time together.

During the treatment, I dropped into what felt like another dimension. I fell out of time. My body stayed present but my spirit was somewhere else. I entered a still, suspended place that felt deeply sacred.

In that space, I saw the most beautiful beings of light. They were tall, slender and filled with a wise and loving presence. One stood in the front and behind them, I saw many more in a stepped triangle formation. They all had their heads bowed in reverence, holding space for something important. I knew instantly they belonged to the healer working on me. These were the guides and guardians who work with her and who show up when she’s doing her sacred work. It was humbling to feel their devotion. I could feel that they weren’t only there for her, but also for me and for the healing that needed to happen in that moment.

Then, another presence entered the room. She was not one of them. She stood apart. And she was unforgettable.

This woman was a warrior. She stood beside me like a mentor, guardian and sister. She had dark skin, long hair pulled over her shoulder, a sword and shield, and bare legs with a strong stance. She seemed eight feet tall. She wasn’t Athena, but she carried energy I associate with the goddess Athena and this mentor/guardian/sister told me she was indeed a devotee. A protector. A warrior who serves.

Before the session began, I had told the healer that I’m trying to support my body in releasing the trauma that has left my nervous system feeling hypersensitive and overly protective. I’ve been working to help my system understand that it doesn’t have to be on guard as often and as diligently as it is.

As this warrior stood beside me with a calm, commanding presence, she said, “If you knew how strong you were, you wouldn’t feel such an urgent need to protect yourself.”

Her words struck deep. In that instant, I was shown an inner part of myself. This version of me was symbolically collapsed on the floor of a prison cell, curled into a ball, holding her knees, huddled in fear. I felt my energy melt into this vision. I felt everything this part of me feels. I fully became her and as I did, I rolled onto my side on the treatment table and held my body like she was holding herself in a curled ball with knees to chest.  Then I cried and cried. Deep tears of grief and recognition. I rocked gently back and forth, comforting her…comforting me.

Just as suddenly as it began, it was over.

I opened my eyes and realized the hour had passed. What felt like a few minutes had somehow stretched into a full hour. I was disoriented, floating between worlds, wondering where time had gone. That’s the nature of magical space. It is liminal and nonlinear. You don’t always know what just happened, but you feel it.

This kind of event is not unusual for me. I travel easily between realms but it was deeply impactful.

Later, as I sat down to write this week’s moon update, I remembered the day of my appointment was the new moon solar eclipse in Aries. Of all the days to be visited by a warrior goddess, it was on the eclipse in Aries!

I’ve been a channel for over 25 years, and I’ve never been visited by a warrior. But today I was.  And I can tell my sister/mentor/guardian is not just passing through. I can feel she’s here to stay until I reclaim what I lost (or forgot). She is guiding me back to my power. She knows I feel like my power has been kicked far out into the dark night sky but it is actually right here, in the core of my light. I just haven’t fully remembered how to access it but in time I will.

Aries in its Highest Expression

On one end of the spectrum, Aries energy can be impatient, violent and selfish but on the other end of the spectrum Aries energy is bold, courageous and empowered.

To me, this warrior goddess is Aries in her highest expression. She doesn’t protect herself out of fear. She knows she’s strong, so she doesn’t need to overcompensate. She stands tall in her truth, unshakable and calm. I want that. I want to lead my life and my business from that place. And I believe this eclipse opened something in me that is ready to begin walking in that direction. Slowly and tenderly of course but still…moving towards my power.

What kind of eclipse magic did you experience?

I hope it helped you remember who you really are because we are kings and queens of light my friend and we deserve to remember who we really are, especially in these unpredictable, turbulent times that make it easy to forget.

But now, let’s get into the lunar energy of this week, shall we?

Venus and The Moon

Studying the astrology of April has me feeling positive and optimistic. There’s a lot of moving forward energy and we’re back to regular full and new moons that are not being influenced by eclipses and the planets that were in retrograde are once again moving forward.

The mood and energy this week feels like it is moving towards this. I know we won’t feel it solidly until the middle of the month but we’re getting hints of ease and solutions even now.

For instance, on Tuesday, Venus is having a close relationship with the North Node that lasts all week. The North Node overdoes things to the point where you don’t know how to stop so normally this might be a little intense or stressful but since the North Node is in relationship with the loving energy of Venus who is retrograde in Pisces, it is going overboard on that kind of vibe which is lovely energy to amplify if you ask me.

As my astrology teacher, Kelly Surtees, explains, Venus retrograde in Pisces is slow, soulful, nourishing energy that is focused on pleasure and repairing relationships. It’s connecting with your intuition, enjoying art, expressing your creativity and loving up on the people who make you smile. It’s sweet, restful energy that wants to bring more pleasure, healing and connection into your life.

On that same day, the moon is having a happy relationship with seven planets. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that happen in all my years of tracking the moon in this way. Wow! And it happens again on Saturday when the moon is having happy relationships with six planets.

This feels heart opening to me and since the moon is growing in energy this week it also feels energizing and motivating.

Venus, the Moon and Money

For my highly sensitive entrepreneurs, I want to talk about Venus, the moon and money this week.

The moon is having multiple happy, harmonious relationships with Venus so it’s amplifying and reflecting the energy Venus is experiencing right now.

Venus is one of the planets I pay close attention to when I’m thinking about how to grow a business that feels good because Venus speaks to what we value.

In ancient astrology, Venus wasn’t just the Goddess of Love, she was the goddess (and planet) connected to beauty, pleasure, connection, and the harmony that makes life enjoyable. And yes, she has long been associated with money not just because of material wealth, but because of the exchange of value.

In ancient times, Venus was tied to agriculture and fertility, which naturally linked her to prosperity and abundance. So when we look to Venus in astrology, especially as business owners, we’re not just looking at cash flow, we’re looking at how we feel about receiving, how we invite opportunities into our lives and businesses, and whether we feel worthy of support, ease, and the beauty we long for.

In ancient astrology, Venus and the moon are two of the most nourishing, life-giving planets in the sky. They both have a gentle, supportive nature and Venus is considered benefic, which means she bring blessings and ease. Both the moon and Venus care about how we feel.

Venus is connected to love, beauty, connection, and the things that bring us pleasure and joy. The moon is connected to our emotions, our inner world, our body, and our everyday needs. Together, they both speak to what makes us feel safe, supported, and cared for but they do it in slightly different ways. Venus helps us feel in harmony with the world and the people around us, while the moon helps us feel in harmony with ourselves, our emotions and the cycles we move through.

When the moon is in relationship with Venus, it’s as if the moon is soaking in Venus’ sweetness and pouring it down to us. The moon always reflects light, and when that light is flavored by Venus, the energy being drawn down feels softer, more loving, and more easeful. It can bring up feelings of wanting beauty, rest, connection, and things that feel good. It can also help you get more in touch with what you want. It can remind you what brings you joy, what you value, and what you long to receive.

Did you catch that?

What do YOU long to receive?

The moon becomes a mirror for the things Venus represents, and that includes your ability to receive and feel worthy of receiving.

In terms of money, Venus and the moon are both deeply connected to how we receive and hold abundance. Venus shows us what we value and how we attract resources, while the moon reflects how safe and supported we feel to attract and receive.

When they’re working together, it’s a beautiful time to check in with your relationship to money from a more emotional and soul-centered perspective.

Are you letting yourself receive the things that truly matter to you?

Do you feel safe enough to open to receive more good things in your business?

Are you building your business in a way that feels nourishing rather than draining?

What kind of money and success is aligned with who you truly are?

Venus in Pisces

Right now, Venus is retrograde in the sign of Pisces and that’s significant because Venus is exalted in Pisces, which means she is in one of her most powerful placements. When Venus is in Pisces, she’s tuned in to soul-deep desires and meaningful connections. And because she’s retrograde, she’s turning inward. She’s not showing up in the usual ways. She’s asking us to reflect, to reassess our relationship with value, love, money, beauty, and business.

What are you pouring your energy into, and does it still feel aligned with who you’re becoming?

Even more powerfully, Venus is moving close to the North Node, which is also in Pisces. The North Node represents where your soul is being pulled toward. It’s the growth that may feel unfamiliar, but is deeply purposeful. Venus here is inviting you to align your business with your soul’s truest calling.

One of my astrology mentors explained that while Venus is close to the North Node, it is like having a compass that points to your abundance. And I feel that. This is the kind of energy that brings blessings, synchronicities, unexpected but aligned income, and creative or spiritual projects that suddenly take shape in ways that feel both fated and fulfilling.

It’s not about hustling harder. It is about softening into alignment, trusting the direction your soul is pointing you toward, and being open to receive what’s been trying to make its way to you.

This is my favorite way to grow and be because it’s soft and gentle but still moves me in the direction I want to go. Everything this highly sensitive soul needs.

And, as I said, the moon this week is reflecting all this.

Working with the Moon and Venus in Your Art Journal

Whenever the moon is forming supportive and harmonious aspects to Venus this week, it is drawing this energy down to you and your business.

Let your art journal become your business altar this week. Use it to ask yourself:

Do I see my own value?

How much do I value myself, my creations and my offerings?

What kind of money wants to flow to me now?

What beauty or meaning am I ready to receive in my work?

What does abundance look like when I follow the path of my soul and not the expectations of the world or other people?

If you’re like me you know, you’re not just building a business. You’re building a life where your soul can shine its light in this world and that’s sacred work.

Who better to help us with that than the Goddess of Love?

How I Can Support You

I may not be the Goddess of Love, but I’m here to support you just the same.

If you’re a highly sensitive entrepreneur like me, and you’re feeling the call to step into soul-led leadership but keep bumping into inner resistance, fear, or self-doubt, I want you to know that you don’t have to move through it alone.

In a BUSINESS ALIGNMENT SESSION, we work with your astrology to understand what your soul is here to express, and we use the MAP Method to gently release the subconscious blocks that keep you from shining your light and growing your business with confidence.

If you’re ready to stop letting resistance run the show and start letting your soul lead the way, I’d love to support you. Book a BUSINESS ALIGNMENT session with me this week and let’s move through what’s been holding you back so you can finally feel safe, clear, and empowered to create the business or art your soul came here to.

Book Your Session Here

If you’re not an entrepreneur but would like to clear blocks and receive intuitive guidance, you can book an Intuitive Support Session here instead.

Now let’s look at a more detailed summary of the moon’s energy this week, giving you an overview of what to expect as the moon moves through different signs and phases. Monday

The week kicks off with the moon being in the sign of Taurus on Monday.

Taurus energy is stable and secure. It brings an air of grace, calm, tolerance, tenacity, comfort, pleasure, grounding, safety and security. Depending on the way it affects you or the area of your life it influences the most, it may also bring laziness, inactivity or stubbornness.

Allow the stable and secure energy of Taurus to sit in your body for a moment.

Think of someone or something that makes you feel safe.

It could be someone you know or even a place in nature that makes you feel held. Maybe its the feeling of being wrapped in the arms of someone you love.

Taking care of your body includes caring for your nervous system and allowing it to remember what feeling calm and grounded is like, or in other words, what safety feels like. When you are able to achieve that feeling of safety it is like medicine to your nervous system – a warm liquid medicine that flows through your nervous system and speaks to your cells and reminds your entire system you can let go and relax because in this moment you are safe. Your brain can take a break. It doesn’t need to stay alert. It can put down the guards.

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents letting your guards down.

Tuesday

On Tuesday, the waxing crescent moon is busy drawing down a lot of magic from different sources.

The waxing crescent moon is moving through the sky and forming happy, supportive relationships with seven different planets. Mars, Saturn, Venus, Neptune, Mercury, Uranus, and Pluto are all in on the fun. That’s a lot of celestial company. Each of these planets is lending their energy to the moon, and because the moon reflects light and energy down to us, we get to receive all of that as emotional, spiritual, and even practical support. This kind of day feels like being surrounded by a wise council where each planet is the loving elder guardian offering something unique to guide and uplift you.

Mars gives you courage and motivation, helping you take action gently and with purpose. Saturn brings structure and long-term vision, encouraging you to make grounded choices that support your future. Venus softens things and reminds you to stay connected to what you value and enjoy. Neptune opens your intuition and your connection to spirit, inviting you to dream and trust. Mercury helps you think clearly, communicate well, and organize your ideas. Uranus brings the spark of new insights or unexpected inspiration, and Pluto encourages deep transformation that comes from within. The moon is touching all of this, helping your inner world feel held, seen, and ready to gently grow. You might feel more emotionally resourced today than you have in a while and it’s a beautiful day to plant seeds of something meaningful.

As you play in your art journal, ask yourself:

If I trusted that life is supporting me in ways I can’t always see, what would I allow myself to grow or begin right now?

Let yourself reflect, play, and create from that place. Even if you don’t have all the answers, let the page be a space where your dreams and your deeper self meet. Let the wisdom of the planets move through you.

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents what dream you want to grow or begin now.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, the waxing crescent moon is in Gemini and in close relationship with Jupiter.

This brings an uplifting and generous kind of energy. When the moon joins Jupiter, it reflects Jupiter’s qualities of hope, growth, learning, and expansion. Jupiter has been traveling through Gemini since May 2024 and will be finishing up its time here by early June 2025, so we’re in the final season of this particular kind of learning and growth. Gemini is a sign of curiosity, ideas, stories, and communication, so Jupiter has been expanding your thinking and maybe even your vision for what’s possible when you allow yourself to ask better questions, stay open-minded, and express yourself. With the moon joining Jupiter today, you may feel more emotionally ready to believe in your growth, your dreams, and your ability to move forward especially when it comes to your mindset and how you express yourself.

Jupiter is currently at 16 degrees of Gemini, in the terms of Venus, which adds a layer of grace, beauty, and receptivity to its influence. It’s also near the fixed star Rigel, which is known in ancient astrology as a fortunate and successful star, often connected with spiritual wisdom, teaching, and leadership. So there’s a feeling here that the energy being drawn down by the moon today is not just about growth. It is about purposeful growth.

You’re being encouraged to share your ideas, follow your curiosity, and trust the path you’re on, even if it still feels like it’s forming. There’s something about today’s energy that wants to remind you that your words, your thoughts, and your willingness to explore new directions can open doors you didn’t expect. And because the moon is still in its waxing crescent phase, this is a perfect time to gently build momentum, one inspired step at a time.

Ask yourself:

Where in my life do I want to express myself more?

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents you expressing yourself freely and authentically.

Thursday

On Thursday, the waxing crescent moon moves into the sign of Cancer but it is also having tense relationships with a few planets.

The moon in Cancer usually brings nurturing, emotional, and home-centered energy but today, it’s not entirely smooth sailing. Throughout the day, at one time or another, the moon is in a tense relationship with Mercury, Venus, Neptune, and Saturn. That’s a lot for the moon to hold, and because the moon draws this energy down into our inner world, you may feel emotionally stretched or tender.

These planets are all hovering around the mystical, deeply transitional edge between the very end of Pisces and the very beginning of Aries. That part of the sky carries a unique kind of energy. It’s where endings dissolve and beginnings ignite. It’s the closing of one great cycle and the ignition of the next.

The 29th degree of Pisces is the very last degree of the entire zodiac wheel. Pisces itself is the final sign. It is spiritual, intuitive, otherworldly, dissolving, and surrendering. The last degree of Pisces carries the energy of release, of letting go, of returning to source. It’s the place of the great unknown. It’s where things lose form and structure and return to pure potential.

It is every emotion washing over you at once – grief, memory, hope, exhaustion, insight. It’s a degree of deep, often unconscious material surfacing to be cleared. If you’re highly sensitive, this can feel overwhelming or disorienting, like you’re standing in fog without knowing what’s coming next. But it’s also profoundly mystical. It’s where we reconnect to spirit, dream of new possibilities, and prepare for transformation.

The 0 degree of Aries, on the other hand, is the very beginning of the zodiac. It’s the spark of life, the ignition of will, the leap into action. It is bold, instinctual, and full of new direction. Where Pisces is soft and surrendering, Aries is focused and assertive. This degree represents birth and the moment the soul re-enters the world and begins something fresh. It is raw and unfiltered, carrying the energy of courage, self-trust, and initiative. But because it comes right after such a delicate, liminal space in Pisces, this leap can feel shocking or jarring. You’re going from water to fire, from endings to action.

When planets hover around this part of the zodiac, especially slow-moving ones like Neptune or Saturn we’re in a powerful in-between. Right now, only Neptune is in the exact degrees I’m referring to but the other planets are all hovering near it so to me it feels like together they are activating this area of the zodiac.

This sacred area of the zodiac asks you to let go of the old, possibly without knowing what the new looks like yet. You might feel pulled in both directions where you feel called to move forward, but still tethered to something dissolving behind you. It’s a time of deep soul work, releasing attachments and old identities so that you can step into something more authentic and aligned.

So if you’re feeling a little off, emotional, inspired, or lost all at once when planets are active here, that’s exactly what this point in the zodiac brings. And the best thing you can do is listen, tend, and trust that something meaningful is taking shape beneath the surface. You’re not lost. You’re in the space between stories and that is sacred ground.

Because the moon itself is in Cancer but it’s drawing down all this energy from the planets that are near this sacred area of the zodiac, your emotional body might feel especially sensitive to all of this. You might feel the need to retreat, rest, or make sense of things that feel both familiar and unclear. There may be a sense of grief for what’s ending, even if you’re ready to let go, or anxiety about what’s beginning even if you know it’s what you want.

Tension with Saturn can make things feel heavy or slow. Tension with Neptune can make things feel confusing or emotional. Tension with Mercury might stir up worry, anxiety or overthinking. And Venus might pull up questions around worthiness, beauty, or connection. So if you find yourself feeling emotionally raw or uncertain, know that you’re not alone.

To work with this energy in your art journal, ask yourself:

What am I letting go of that is uncomfortable, but necessary?

What new beginnings have been taking shape in my life lately?

Imagine you are crossing a threshold and even though the path may feel unclear, your soul knows the way.

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents your soul leading the way.

Friday

On Friday, the first quarter moon is in the sign of Cancer.

The zodiac sign of Cancer is like the thoughtful friend who always remembers your birthday and shows up with tissues and ice cream when you’re feeling down.

Emotionally, Cancer is all about family, home, and those cozy comfort zones. It’s like a warm blanket that wraps around you, offering a sense of security in an uncertain world. Cancer’s energy can also be a bit moody and prone to emotional waves but overall it’s a time to honor your feelings, even the messy ones, and to nurture your inner landscape.

Spiritually, Cancer invites you to dive into your own psyche, to explore the depths of your emotions, and to connect with your intuition. It also encourages you to seek solace within yourself and to create a safe inner haven.

Today, in your art journal, create a visual representation of your emotional sanctuary. I’ve shared this prompt before so if you’ve explored your emotional sanctuary before, this about what you would add to it now.

This sanctuary can take any form that resonates with your soul. Imagine a place that embodies what calm and safety mean to you. It could be a lush garden with the soft rustling of leaves, a cozy room filled with your favorite books, a serene beach where the waves gently lap at the shore, or even a mystical forest with a protective light surrounding it. The key is in the details that make this space uniquely comforting to you. Visualize the colors, sounds, textures, and scents that fill this place and make it inviting.

In this space, add elements that hold personal significance. It might be a comfortable seat in a corner, a symbol of protection like a shield or a light, or items that evoke happy memories or feelings of peace. Personal touches make your sanctuary more real and emotionally resonant.

Your sanctuary should be a place of absolute security. If it helps, imagine protective barriers, like a fence around your garden or an aura of light, that keep this space safe and private. This is your haven, away from the chaos of the outside world.

When life becomes overwhelming, retreat to this sanctuary in your mind. Here, you can process your emotions freely, find a sense of calm, and gather your inner strength. It’s a place for you to heal and restore yourself without any external interference.

Your sanctuary can also be a place for seeking clarity and guidance from your soul or your spirit allies. Ask yourself questions and listen for the answers that come from within. Often, the insights you gain here are reflective of your deepest subconscious wisdom.

Your inner emotional sanctuary is a space where you can cultivate inner peace and resilience, making the challenges of the real world more manageable. In this sanctuary, you’re not just finding an escape; you’re actively engaging in your emotional well-being and healing. In your art journal today, explore what your perfect emotional sanctuary looks like. What colors, textures, and images resonate with the idea of emotional security for you? Allow your art to be a reminder that you carry your safe haven within, no matter the storm outside.

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents your very own inner sanctuary where you can escape to rest, find comfort, seek counsel from your spirit allies and process your emotions.

Saturday

On Saturday, the first quarter moon has a lot of happy relationships with other planets then later in the day it moves into the sign of Leo.

This feels like another wave of gentle but powerful moon magic. Throughout the day, the moon is having a happy relationship with Saturn, Venus, Neptune, Mercury, Mars, and Uranus. When the moon is in these kinds of relationships, it draws down their energies and helps us feel them in ways that are more accessible, grounded, and real.

This kind of moon day can feel like being wrapped in guidance from all directions. Saturn helps you feel focused and committed to what matters most. Venus reminds you of your worth, your values, and the beauty in your life. Neptune inspires your dreams and spiritual connection. Mercury supports clear thinking and soulful communication. Mars energizes and motivates you to move forward. And Uranus adds a spark of innovation and the willingness to try something new.

This is the kind of day where your mind, body, and spirit can come into alignment when you slow down enough to notice it. The moon is reflecting back to you that you’re supported. The parts of you that need steadiness and safety, to the parts of you that crave change and fresh energy, you are able to receive what you need.

You might feel more emotionally resourced and creatively clear, like there’s actually space to feel your feelings, listen to your intuition, and move forward with something that’s been quietly calling to you. This energy is soft but strong. It’s not about pushing, but about opening to the support that’s already around you and within you.

:As you work with this energy in your art journal, ask yourself:

What kind of support am I ready to receive?

Let your page become a reflection of the kind of energy you want to invite more of into your life. You might create symbols or colors that represent steadiness, flow, clarity, or inspiration. Let it be a page that reminds you that you are not alone in what you’re growing. You are always supported by invisible forces of love.

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage images that represent the kind of support you need during this lunar cycle.

Sunday

On Sunday, the first quarter moon is in the sign of Leo.

Leo is ruled by the sun so the moon is carrying a little more of that energy as well today.

Leo energy wants to bring loyalty, dependability, power, radiance, generosity, warmth, optimism and solidity. It wants to help you shine your light in the world, believe in your worth and boost your confidence. It is warm and expressive but sometimes can bring energy that influences you to be abrupt or impulsive.

Imagine your inner light – the part of you that shines bright no matter what has happened to you or how you are feeling – the part of you that is forever radiant and worthy of goodness.

Now imagine that light grows a little brighter. As it grows brighter, it attracts more goodness to you today.

Imagine your light attracting goodness to you all day long.

What might that look and feel like?

In your art journal, draw, paint or collage an image that represents your inner light growing brighter and attracting more goodness to you today.

with love,
