The Myth of “Not Enough”: Reclaiming Your Worth with the Moon and Stars
What your sun sign and moon sign can teach you about overcoming self-doubt and how they can show you where you are meant to lead and shine.
Why “Not Enough” Is a Myth
Have you ever caught yourself saying, “I’m not enough,” or silently feeling like you’ll never measure up?
Do you tend to compare yourself to other people and seem to always fall short?
I tend to fall into the comparison trap more often than I want to. As an entrepreneur, the belief “I’m not enough” can fuel procrastination, cause you to undercharge for your services, have you looping around in perfectionism or hold you back from sharing your gifts with the world. But it is, of course, only a myth that you’re not enough. It’s a story shaped by the past.
In this post, I want to show you how the moon and stars at the moment of your birth have a different story to share – as do your spirit guides, angels and ancestors. From their perspective, who you are is pretty amazing.
What I love about astrological consultations and intuitive readings is they help you see who you really are and who you are has always been more than good enough.
Why You Can’t Just Get Over It
When doubt creeps in or the inner critic gets loud, I’ve noticed most people expect themselves to just get over it but, in the end, that approach never works.
When feelings of not good enough creep in, up pops up another voice. This part of you wants to move past it as quickly as possible. “Why am I still struggling with this?” “I should be over this by now.” “Other people don’t seem to deal with this—what’s wrong with me?” The frustration with yourself builds, and instead of meeting your feelings with curiosity and care, you push them aside, hoping they’ll disappear on their own.
But here’s the thing: when you judge yourself for having insecurities, you’re actually reinforcing them. You’re telling yourself—on a deeper, subconscious level—that these feelings are unacceptable, that there’s something inherently wrong with you for even having them. And when you do that, the parts of you that hold those insecurities don’t feel heard—they feel rejected. So they stay hidden, unprocessed, waiting for another moment to surface, hoping next time they’ll finally get the attention they need.
This is why self-judgment is such a sneaky and painful cycle. When your inner critic gets loud, you might assume the solution is to push through, to force yourself into confidence, to fake it ’til you make it, to power over your insecurities with logic or willpower. But real healing doesn’t happen that way.
You can’t shame yourself into wholeness.
You can’t silence your fears by ignoring them. You can’t force yourself to be ready when deep down, there’s a part of you that is still scared, still waiting to be acknowledged.
If you’ve been struggling with self-doubt in your business or creative work, and if you notice yourself feeling impatient with your own insecurities, I want to invite you to pause.
What would happen if, instead of trying to force yourself to get over it, you turned toward yourself with understanding?
What if you got curious about where these feelings come from, why they exist, and what they might need from you?
What if instead of rejecting them, you offered them kindness?
This isn’t about staying stuck in self-doubt. It’s about creating the conditions that actually allow you to move through it—gently, in your own time, with the self-respect and care you deserve. When you start approaching yourself in this way, something powerful happens. You stop being at war with yourself. You stop seeing your insecurities as obstacles and start seeing them as invitations—to understand yourself, to care for yourself, and to meet yourself exactly where you are, instead of where you think you should be.
And ironically, that’s when you actually start growing. Because healing isn’t about getting rid of parts of yourself—it’s about integrating them. It’s about realizing that the part of you that feels not good enough doesn’t need to be pushed away. It needs to be heard, held, and understood. And when it feels safe, when it knows it’s not alone, it won’t feel the need to hold you back anymore.
You can start by understanding why the feelings of “not good enough” might exist in the first place.
How “Not Enough” Takes Root
The belief “I’m not good enough” often takes roots when you’ve experienced emotional neglect in your childhood. Emotional neglect isn’t always obvious. It isn’t something that happens to you—it’s what doesn’t happen. It’s the absence of the emotional support, validation, and attunement you needed as a child. Maybe no one encouraged your dreams or asked how you felt. Maybe your emotions were ignored, dismissed, or you were made to feel like a burden. Maybe you were expected to be self-sufficient too soon, or you learned that the safest way to exist was to take care of others while keeping your own needs quiet.
When this happens, a deep belief can take root inside you—one that whispers, You are not enough as you are. When your inner world is not seen, valued, or nurtured, you begin to doubt your own worth. You become disconnected from your emotional needs, and over time, this can lead to a pattern of self-doubt, over-giving, and struggling to trust yourself. Instead of feeling inherently valuable, you look outside yourself for proof of your worth. You measure yourself against others, wondering why you don’t seem to have the same confidence, clarity, or success.
And when you step into entrepreneurship, this belief doesn’t just go away—it follows you.
How “Not Enough” Affects Highly Sensitive Entrepreneurs

If you’re a highly sensitive person, the wounds of emotional neglect can feel even deeper. You naturally pick up on the energy, emotions, and expectations of those around you, and if you weren’t nurtured properly in childhood, you may have internalized the belief that your feelings, needs, and desires weren’t important. The emotional weight you carried as a child was HEAVY and this makes the emotional weight of running a business feel heavy as well.
Entrepreneurship is filled with unknowns, risks, and decisions that require trust in yourself. But if your nervous system is wired to anticipate rejection, abandonment, or failure, putting yourself out there can feel terrifying. You might second-guess everything you do. You might compare yourself to others and feel like you’re falling short. You might work twice as hard, hoping that if you just do enough, you’ll finally feel safe, valued, and seen or you work and work and work hoping that if you do enough, you’ll finally earn what you deserve.
But the truth is, no amount of external success can heal the wounds of emotional neglect. No number of clients, sales, or social media followers can make you feel like you’re enough if you don’t already believe it inside yourself. And no matter what you earn, you can still believe you’re not good enough yet or something is inherently wrong with you or you need to keep improving before you “arrive”.
This is why I want to remind you: You are exactly where you need to be. You are not behind. There is nothing wrong with you. You are enough just as you are right here, right now.
The part of you that doubts yourself? The part that feels like you’re never enough? These are inner parts that need tending, not judgment.
Let’s gently unravel this a little deeper with the moon, the stars and your spirit allies, shall we?
Moving Away From “Not Enough” With the Moon
You carry the imprint of the moon from the moment you were born. In ancient astrology, the moon represents far more than emotions—it holds the key to your deepest needs, your sense of safety, and how you were nurtured (or not nurtured). It speaks to what makes you feel cared for, what soothes you, and what you instinctively crave when life feels overwhelming.
But it also carries the stories of what was missing.
The moon in your birth chart can illuminate the emotional environment you grew up in. It can show how you learned to seek comfort, what patterns you unconsciously repeat, and where you may have felt unseen, uncared for, or emotionally deprived. If you grew up feeling like your needs were too much, or if you were left to emotionally fend for yourself, your moon placement can help explain why you carry the belief that you are not enough.
But here’s the beautiful thing—your moon doesn’t just reveal wounds. It also reveals the path to healing.
Your Inner Parts Are Waiting to Be Nourished
The places where you feel most insecure—where you compare yourself, doubt yourself, or feel like you’re lacking—are not flaws. They are not evidence that something is wrong with you. They are parts of you that did not receive what they needed when you were younger, and they are still waiting for that nourishment.
Your moon placement shows you exactly how to give yourself that nourishment.
For example, if your moon is in a water sign (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces), you may need deep emotional validation, softness, and permission to honor your intuition without judgment.
If your moon is in an air sign (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius), your healing may come through communication—writing, speaking, or sharing your inner world with safe and understanding people.
If your moon is in an earth sign (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn), you may need tangible reassurance—rituals, stability, self-trust, and proof of your own capability.
If your moon is in a fire sign (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), you may need permission to take up space, to express yourself freely, and to move energy through creativity or action.
This knowledge isn’t about labeling yourself. It’s about reclaiming your needs. It’s about recognizing that the way you feel most nurtured because feeling emotionally cared for and nurtured = feeling more secure with yourself and who you are which inevitably = feeling good enough.
Beyond the Moon
While your moon sign reveals the emotional landscape you navigate—your needs, wounds, and ways of feeling safe—there is so much more to your birth chart that can guide you toward confidence, clarity, and purpose in your business. Your Sun, Ascendant, and the planet that rules your Ascendant act as powerful indicators of your core strengths, your personal mission, and how you are meant to shine in the world.
It’s easy to question whether you have what it takes to succeed, whether your dreams are too big, or whether you are even “meant” for the work you feel called to do. But astrology holds a mirror up to your spirit and reflects it back to you. In your chart, we can see your natural strengths, hidden talents, and unique purpose—the qualities you may overlook or second-guess but that are intrinsically yours.
Your Sun: The Core of Your Light
The Sun in your birth chart represents your core essence, your creative life force, and the way you are meant to shine in the world. If your Moon shows what you need to feel safe, your Sun shows what you need to feel alive. It reveals how you radiate your gifts and express your purpose.
Many of us, especially those with a history of trauma or emotional neglect, have learned to dim our light. If you grew up in an environment where your natural energy, creativity, or boldness was ignored, unseen or met with criticism or rejection, you may have learned to suppress the very qualities that make you you. Understanding your Sun sign and how it is placed in your chart helps you reclaim your birthright to shine.
If Your Sun is in a Fire Sign: Your Light is Bold and Inspiring
If you have a Fire Sun, your natural light is bright, passionate, and courageous. You are here to lead, inspire, and move forward fearlessly, bringing creativity, action, and enthusiasm into your work. But self-doubt can turn your fire into flickering embers, especially if you were ever told you were “too much,” “too intense,” or “too impulsive.”
- Aries Sun: Your instinct is to charge forward and make things happen. You’re here to pioneer, initiate, and take bold risks. But if you were raised in an environment where your independence or assertiveness was discouraged, you might hesitate to trust your instincts or worry that acting on your desires will push people away.
- Leo Sun: You are meant to shine, express yourself creatively, and take up space with confidence. But if you learned that seeking attention made you vain or selfish, you might suppress your need to be seen and struggle with self-worth, waiting for permission to share your gifts.
- Sagittarius Sun: You are a seeker, an adventurer, and a teacher. Your light expands through learning and sharing wisdom. But if you were taught that your big ideas were unrealistic or that it was safer to conform than to explore, you might hold back your truth or doubt whether your knowledge is enough.
For Fire Suns, reclaiming your light means trusting your instincts, embracing your passion, and allowing yourself to take up space without apology.
If Your Sun is in an Air Sign: Your Light is Expressive and Visionary
If you have an Air Sun, your light shines through ideas, communication, and connection. You bring curiosity, innovation, and fresh perspectives into your work. But self-doubt can cloud your clarity, making you overthink, question yourself, or feel disconnected from your own voice.
- Gemini Sun: You are quick-witted, adaptable, and full of ideas. You love learning and sharing knowledge in ways that engage and inspire others. But if you were raised in an environment where your voice wasn’t valued or your curiosity was shut down, you may struggle with self-trust—constantly gathering more information instead of sharing what you already know.
- Libra Sun: You bring harmony, beauty, and relationship-building into your work. You are a bridge between people, helping others find balance and connection. But if you were conditioned to prioritize others’ needs over your own, you may find yourself people-pleasing or hesitating to share your real opinions for fear of disrupting the peace.
- Aquarius Sun: You are an innovator, a forward-thinker, and a change-maker. You bring new perspectives and unconventional wisdom into your work. But if you grew up feeling like you didn’t fit in, you might struggle with feeling misunderstood or holding back your genius ideas for fear of being too “out there.”
For Air Suns, reclaiming your light means trusting your unique way of thinking, valuing your ideas, and allowing your voice to be heard—without overthinking how others will receive it.
If Your Sun is in a Water Sign: Your Light is Deep and Intuitive
If you have a Water Sun, your light is sensitive, intuitive, and emotionally rich. You bring depth, healing, and emotional wisdom into your work. But self-doubt can make you question whether you’re too sensitive, too emotional, or too “soft” to succeed in business.
- Cancer Sun: You are nurturing, emotionally intuitive, and deeply connected to the idea of home, belonging, and care. Your business is an extension of your heart. But if you grew up feeling like your emotions were too much for others, you may struggle with overgiving or holding back your true needs in order to make others comfortable.
- Scorpio Sun: You are a transformer, a truth-seeker, and a deep well of emotional intensity. You see what’s hidden and aren’t afraid to dive deep. But if you’ve experienced betrayal or emotional pain, you might hesitate to be fully seen, fearing vulnerability as a weakness instead of the power it truly is.
- Pisces Sun: You are a dreamer, a mystic, and a compassionate soul. You bring creativity, spirituality, and a profound sense of connection into your work. But if you’ve felt lost in others’ expectations or struggled with boundaries, you might have a hard time trusting your own direction or staying grounded in your own path.
For Water Suns, reclaiming your light means honoring your sensitivity as a strength, trusting your deep knowing, and allowing yourself to shine without fear of being “too much.”
If Your Sun is in an Earth Sign: Your Light is Steady and Grounded
If you have an Earth Sun, your light shines through stability, practicality, and persistence. You bring a strong foundation, deep integrity, and the ability to turn ideas into reality. But self-doubt can make you question whether you’re moving fast enough, doing enough, or achieving enough—leading to overworking, perfectionism, or fear of taking risks.
- Taurus Sun: You are patient, reliable, and deeply connected to beauty, pleasure, and the physical world. You build your business with consistency and care, valuing quality over speed. But if you were raised in an environment where stability felt uncertain or your needs weren’t prioritized, you may struggle with trusting that success can come in a way that feels good and sustainable, rather than through constant effort and sacrifice.
- Virgo Sun: You are precise, thoughtful, and naturally skilled at problem-solving, organizing, and refining. You bring clarity and improvement to everything you touch. But if you were taught that mistakes weren’t acceptable or that your worth is tied to productivity, you might find yourself stuck in perfectionism, endlessly tweaking your work instead of sharing it, or feeling like you’re never quite “ready” to be seen.
- Capricorn Sun: You are ambitious, disciplined, and incredibly resilient. You see the long game and are willing to put in the effort to build something meaningful. But if you grew up feeling like you had to be responsible too soon or that success only comes through struggle, you might carry an unconscious belief that rest is a weakness or that you have to do everything alone.
For Earth Suns, reclaiming your light means trusting in your steady pace, valuing your gifts without overworking, and allowing yourself to succeed without unnecessary struggle.
Each Sun placement tells a different story, but the message is always the same: You are meant to shine.
How This Connects to Your Business Goals
Astrology isn’t just about personality—it’s about purpose.
Your Sun and Moon work together to reveal:
- Your natural strengths and how to use them in your business
- What success looks like for you (not based on others’ definitions, but your own)
- Where self-doubt tends to creep in and how to shift it
- How you are meant to show up, lead, and shine
When you begin to work with your chart rather than against it, you stop feeling like you’re constantly battling yourself. Instead, you gain clarity, confidence, and a deep sense of self-trust.
