Empowering Your Inner Wild Witch with the Solar Eclipse – Art Journal with the Moon for September 30-October 6, 2024
In this post, I share a summary of the moon for the week of September 30-October 6, 2024 as it moves through the zodiac and interacts with the planets. I also explain how the solar eclipse in Libra is helping you step into your inner Wild Witch energy.
The Moon This Week
Before we get into the nitty gritty details of the eclipse this week, I just want to remind you that the doors to the 30-Day Wild Witch Activation close on Wednesday and you don’t want to miss this. Imagine 30 days of deep transformation work in perfect alignment with the moon and the season of the witch.
In fact, the solar eclipse in Libra on October 2, 2024 mirrors many qualities of the Wild Witch, especially when it comes to transformation, release, and spiritual growth. Like the Wild Witch, this eclipse energy encourages you to shed old versions of yourself, release what no longer serves you, and step into a more empowered and aligned version of who you truly are. That’s why I think it’s the perfect moon to kick off this new program. If you’re looking to release old ways of seeing yourself and step into claiming the version of you that is wild and unapologetic and powerful while you play with art to manifest the changes you want to see in your life and work with your subconscious mind to heal your shadows, join me for the 30-Day Wild Witch Activation. On November 1st, after our celebration Witches in Pajamas Halloween Party, you’ll feel changed in ways that make you feel stronger, more confident and more sure of who you are and the kind of magic you want to weave in your life.
I’m typing this after having returned from being outside in my yard talking to a neighbor who hugged me and cried and thanked me so much for the MAP Method recordings I shared with her in the last activation I created. She wanted me to know how much the MAP recordings have helped her at some of the most challenging times in her life. I told her that’s how I feel about the recordings too. They work. They really, truly work. And in the 30-Day Wild Witch Activation you’ll receive 30 morning activations to listen to while you create your handprint art magic but you’ll also receive 30 evening MAP recordings and they are life-changing recordings that you will listen to over and over again and each time you listen, your subconscious mind will hear the instructions I’m giving and it will do your deep emotional healing work for you. It’s absolutely amazing.
So on that note, let’s talk about why this eclipse is so wild and witchy.
In this post, I explain how to work with the solar eclipse in your art journal. I also share a summary of the moon’s energy this week, giving you an overview of what to expect as the moon moves through different signs and phases. However, if you’re looking for more specific ways to work with the moon’s energy each day, be sure to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok. There, in my videos and reels, I share daily art journal with the moon prompts that guide you in doing deep inner work or practicing manifestation magic in a creative way with the moon. You can also sign up here, to get reminders in your inbox of the moon’s energy for the upcoming week and how you can work with it in your art journal to practice folk magic, tend to your soul or do your deep inner work.
The week kicks off with the balsamic moon in the sign of Virgo on Monday which is the perfect energy to release, rest, and prepare for new beginnings with a special focus on healing and cleansing. Virgo’s energy can sometimes be perfectionistic or self-critical, but during this phase, it’s important to soften that inner voice and focus on self-compassion. Use this time to slow down and release the need for everything to be perfect. It’s a great time for clearing your energy, whether that means simplifying your routine, decluttering your space, or letting go of any emotional patterns that feel heavy.
On Tuesday, the balsamic moon moves into the sign of Libra. Reflect on what you need to release to feel more aligned with your true self and in your relationships. Libra’s energy can help you see things with clarity and compassion, making this a perfect moment to release what’s no longer working and create space for the peace and balance you deserve.
On Wednesday, we greet the solar eclipse in Libra. I talk about the eclipse in more detail below but also in this blog post.
With the new moon in Libra having a happy relationship with Jupiter, Thursday brings an opportunity to reflect on the transformations that are showing up in your life or in your inner world. Because it’s right after a solar eclipse, this is not yet the time to set new intentions. Eclipses bring deep, transformative energy, so this is a moment to reflect on what’s shifting in your life rather than rushing into new beginnings.
On Friday, the moon is still in the new moon phase but it moves into the sign of Scorpio and it has a tense relationship with Pluto. This invites us to look within and confront the inner shadows we might usually avoid. The energy of Scorpio and Pluto combined is about going beneath the surface and being willing to confront the uncomfortable emotions or truths that we tend to bury. It’s not always easy, but this is the kind of work that leads to profound personal growth. You may feel drawn to explore your shadow side — the parts of yourself that hold fear, anger, or pain — and find ways to release or transform them.
Saturday’s growing moon in Scorpio invites us to explore our feelings, and really get to the heart of things. Scorpio’s energy helps us look at things we usually don’t. It asks us to be honest with our feelings and to explore the parts of ourselves that we often keep hidden. What parts of yourself do you want to understand better or change? Where in your life do you want more real, deep connections?
The week wraps up on Sunday with the waxing crescent moon moving into the sign of Sagittarius. The waxing crescent phase is all about building momentum after the new moon, so it’s a great moment to start taking small steps toward your dreams or what you want to experience during this lunar cycle. You can work with this energy in your art journal to explore the dreams or visions you have for your life, especially those that feel bold or exciting. Think about where you want to go next, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. This is a time to embrace curiosity and the belief that there’s more out there for you to explore.
Remember, the moon’s energy is here to support you in embracing who you truly are. By art journaling with the lunar energy this week, you’re not only connecting with the rhythms of nature but also nurturing your soul and manifesting the changes you really want to see in your life so you can more fully align with your true self.
Now let’s talk more about how to work with the eclipse in your art journal to release old beliefs about yourself that do not align with your inner wild witch.
A Wild Witch Can Let Go of the Past
During a solar eclipse connected to the South Node in Libra, we experience powerful, dramatic energy focused on endings. This mirrors the Wild Witch’s ability to let go of the past, clearing away fear, old baggage, and patterns that keep us stuck. Just as a Wild Witch embraces the cycles of death and rebirth, this eclipse invites you to look at the Libra part of your chart and examine what needs to be released for greater balance and harmony, particularly in your relationships and personal connections. It’s a time to let go of unhealthy habits, old relationship dynamics, or attachments that weigh you down, so you can make space for new growth.
Just as the Wild Witch honors the cycles of death and rebirth, we too are being invited to embrace that process, to release the things we’ve outgrown so we can create space for something new to take root.
The Libra energy of this eclipse directs us to focus on balance and harmony, particularly in our relationships and personal connections. This is the time to really reflect on what isn’t working in these areas of your life. Are there unhealthy habits, old relationship dynamics, or attachments that you’ve been holding onto even though they’re no longer serving you? This eclipse is your chance to release them. It’s about making space for new growth, new opportunities, and healthier, more aligned ways of being in relationship with yourself and others.
In your art journal, you can use this eclipse energy to help you process and release these old patterns. One powerful practice is to create a page that represents the things you want to let go of. You might draw or paint symbols of old habits or dynamics that feel heavy or stagnant. Use colors that represent that weight — maybe dark tones or shadows — and let yourself feel what it’s like to let those things go as you create. Write down the habits, relationships, or emotional baggage that you are ready to release.
Then, on another page, create space for new growth. You could use lighter, more vibrant colors to represent the energy you want to invite into your life. Draw symbols of balance, harmony, and healthy relationships, or write down the qualities you want to embody moving forward. You might even journal about how it feels to let go of these old patterns, and what new opportunities could arise from releasing them.
This eclipse is a powerful opportunity to clear the way for new energy in your life.
Just like the Wild Witch who embraces the natural cycles of letting go and renewal, you are being invited to release the past and step into a more balanced, harmonious version of yourself. Art journaling with the moon can help you connect with this process in a creative, hands-on way, making it feel more real and more personal as you move through it.
A Wild Witch Honors Her Spiritual Priorities
The spiritual energy of this eclipse, with the Sun’s energy temporarily dimmed, calls for a retreat from worldly concerns and material goals, much like the Wild Witch who turns inward to connect with her spiritual priorities. This is a time to focus on emotional and spiritual cleansing, as the South Node encourages you to release anything that’s no longer aligned with your soul’s purpose.
The Wild Witch is always in tune with the cycles of nature, and this eclipse is a perfect mirror of that. The eclipse energy supports restful, mystical activities and encourages you to focus on soulful conversations and self-reflection. It’s a time to release outdated perspectives, declutter your emotional landscape, and create space for something new to grow, just as the Wild Witch renews herself by aligning with the natural rhythms of life.
The Wild Witch understands that part of her power comes from honoring these cycles of rest and renewal.
The energy of this eclipse mirrors that wisdom, supporting you in letting go of what is no longer in tune with your spirit.
In your art journal, this is the perfect time to reflect on what spiritual priorities are most important to you. You might start by creating a page that represents what you’re ready to release on a spiritual level. Maybe there are beliefs, fears, or emotional patterns that have cluttered your spiritual path.
Here are some examples of what you might want to release. Do you resonate with any of these?
Old Beliefs About Yourself: Maybe you’ve been carrying a belief that you’re not worthy, not magical enough, or not “witchy” enough to fully step into your power. You could draw symbols of heaviness, like chains, dark clouds, or even images that represent a caged version of yourself, to show that you’re ready to release these limiting beliefs.
Fear of Being Seen: If you’ve been holding onto fear around expressing your true self, especially your spiritual or witchy side, this might be the perfect time to release it. You might draw an image of yourself in the shadows, with symbols of darkness or hiding. Then, consider how you can visualize stepping into the light — maybe with candles, stars, or the moon, as a way of showing you’re ready to be seen or you’re ready to fully see yourself for who you really are.
Attachments to Past Failures: Perhaps past mistakes or failures have been haunting you, making you hesitant to move forward with your spiritual practice or creative dreams. You could use symbols like broken mirrors, cracked earth, or heavy stones to represent those old attachments. The act of drawing them allows you to acknowledge them before releasing them.
Toxic Relationships: If certain relationships are draining your energy or no longer aligning with who you’re becoming, you might represent those connections as tangled vines, overgrown forests, or dark waters. By visualizing the release of these energies, you can free yourself from their hold.
Perfectionism: If you’ve been carrying a need for perfectionism in your spiritual or creative practice, you can create symbols of rigid, straight lines or images that represent pressure and tension, like tightly wound coils or clenched fists. This page can symbolize your readiness to let go of the need for everything to be perfect and embrace your authentic, messy, magical self.
Fear of Failure: Maybe you’ve been holding back from fully engaging in your magic or spiritual practice because you’re afraid of failing or not being “good enough.” You might draw images of walls, roadblocks, or stormy weather to represent these fears then ask your spirit allies for help releasing them.
Outdated Spiritual Practices: Sometimes, we outgrow spiritual practices that no longer resonate with us. You could use your art journal to let go of rituals or beliefs that once served you but now feel out of alignment. You might draw symbols of old tools, rituals, or symbols that you feel ready to leave behind to make room for something new.
Insecurity in Your Magic: If you’ve been doubting your own magical abilities or power, you could draw that self-doubt as an image of fading light. Let the page represent the release of those doubts, and include symbols of the new magic and strength you’re stepping into, like flames, stars, or vibrant colors.
Expectations from Others: If you’ve been holding onto expectations from family, friends, or society about how you should practice your spirituality or live your life, you might draw a web or chains that have held you back. Let the page symbolize your readiness to break free and live according to your own rules.
Guilt Around Prioritizing Your Spiritual Journey: If you’ve struggled with guilt about putting your spiritual or personal growth first, you could draw that guilt as heavy weights or shadows pulling you down. Then, use your art to release that guilt and embrace your right to prioritize your own spiritual and emotional well-being.
What are your spiritual priorities right now?
What makes you feel most connected to your soul’s purpose?
You can create images, write down affirmations, or journal about how you want to honor these priorities moving forward. You might even include symbols of restful, mystical activities that nourish your spirit, such as spending time in nature, meditating, or having soulful conversations.
This eclipse is a reminder to pause and realign with what truly matters on a spiritual level. It’s an opportunity to declutter your emotional landscape and create space for new growth, just as a Wild Witch would. As you work through this process in your art journal, remember that aligning with your spiritual priorities isn’t just about letting go — it’s about making space for what nourishes your soul and helps you grow. This practice can help you reconnect with your inner Wild Witch and prepare for the renewal that comes after the eclipse.
A Wild Witch Purges What Is No Longer Aligned
With Venus, the ruler of the eclipse, currently in Scorpio during this eclipse, it adds to the Wild Witch energy by bringing an intense, purging energy to your emotional and relational life. Just as the Wild Witch walks through the shadows to heal, this influence asks you to dive deep into trust and loyalty issues, to detox from relationships and emotional baggage that no longer support your growth. The Wild Witch is not afraid to face what’s hidden in the darkness, and this eclipse asks you to do the same, letting go of old fears and worries that hold you back.
As a Wild Witch, part of your healing journey is learning to walk through the shadows of your life — especially when it comes to relationships.
This eclipse energy invites you to dive deep into the issues of trust, loyalty, and emotional baggage that may be weighing you down. Just as the Wild Witch isn’t afraid to confront the dark, this is your time to face any relationship patterns or attachments that no longer support your growth. Whether it’s a relationship that’s been draining you, a friendship where the trust has been broken, or emotional baggage that’s keeping you stuck, now is the time to detox and release what isn’t aligned with who you’re becoming.
In your art journal, you can begin by exploring the relationships that feel heavy or complicated. Create a page that represents a relationship issue or dynamic that you’re ready to let go of. You might start by thinking about a particular person or a pattern that keeps showing up in your relationships. Draw or paint symbols that represent those feelings — maybe tangled vines, chains, or dark waters to show how trust has been broken or how loyalty feels strained.
If it’s emotional baggage that’s weighing you down, think about what that baggage looks like. Maybe you’ve been holding onto guilt, resentment, or fear around relationships. What would you paint or draw to represent that weight? Use your art to express what it feels like to carry that emotional burden, and let yourself get real about how it’s holding you back.
Once you’ve created this page, take a moment to reflect on what it would feel like to release these issues. You might use a new page to represent the relationships you want to have — those built on trust, respect, and mutual support. Draw symbols of lightness, open hands, or bridges to represent the kind of relationships that lift you up. Write down qualities you want in your relationships, like trust, loyalty, and clear communication.
This process in your art journal helps you bring clarity to the relationships and emotional baggage that need healing. By getting creative with it, you can see your feelings in a new light and begin to detox from the emotional patterns that no longer serve you. Just like the Wild Witch, this is about walking through the shadows of your relationships, trusting that by releasing what no longer fits, you’re making space for something better, more aligned, and more nourishing to grow.
Working with this Energy Together
JOIN THE NEXT ACTIVATION
As I mentioned earlier, I’m hosting a 30-Day Wild Witch Activation and it is perfectly timed and perfectly aligned with the powerful energy we’re experiencing right now. While we are in the season of autumn and the solar eclipse on the South Node is upon us, there’s a natural momentum to release, transform, and let go of old identities that no longer serve you.
My 30-Day activation is designed to help you harness this energy, guiding you through the process of shedding outdated ways of seeing yourself and stepping into a more authentic, empowered version of who you truly are. By aligning with all this helpful energy in nature, you’re not just doing the inner work — you’re doing it at the most energetically supportive time, allowing for deeper, more lasting transformation. This is the perfect moment to commit to your growth, supported by the natural rhythms and cycles of the universe so if you want to align with this energy and use it to your advantage, definitely come join us.

JOIN THE NEXT WITCHY WEDNESDAY ART CIRCLE
Witchy Wednesday Art Circle is a weekly online gathering where we align with the moon and nature’s cycles, practice folk magic in our art journals, and use the MAP Method to clear subconscious blocks that stand between you and your dreams. These gatherings are designed to help you tend to your soul, practice magic, or process any emotions you haven’t had time for earlier in the week.
We finish with a Moon Mapping session, where we use the MAP Method (Make Anything Possible) to release old memories and overcome limiting beliefs that hold you back.
Don’t worry if you don’t have an art journal or art experience—this is all about the process, not the final result. You can use pencil crayons or markers on any paper you have! You’ll leave feeling lighter, clearer, and ready to take confident steps forward, with a deeper understanding of your own unique magic.
