Transforming How You See Yourself with the Virgo New Moon – Art Journal with the Moon for September 2-8, 2024

In this post, I share a summary of the moon for the week of September 2-8, 2024 as it moves through the zodiac and interacts with the planets. I also describe how to work with the new moon in Virgo to change how you see yourself so you are better aligned with the life you want to create for your future.

The Moon This Week

As we approach the Virgo New Moon on Monday, September 2, 2024, we’re stepping into an energy that’s perfect for new beginnings, organization, and fresh starts. This particular new moon is ruled by Mercury, and it’s in a special place right now because Mercury has just ended its retrograde period. This means the ruler of the new moon is also in a phase of starting anew, helping us get back on track, reactivate things that may have been neglected, and recover our focus.

I’m going to share a summary of the moon’s energy this week, giving you an overview of what to expect as the moon moves through different signs and phases and talk more about how to work with this new moon in Virgo in your art journal. However, if you’re looking for more specific ways to work with the moon’s energy each day, be sure to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok. There, in my videos and reels, I share daily art journal with the moon prompts that guide you in doing deep inner work or practicing manifestation magic in a creative way with the moon. The week kicks off with the new moon in Virgo on Monday which is the perfect energy to look closely at how you see yourself. Ask yourself: Is my current self-image supporting the goals I have for my future? If not, it’s time to release old identities or beliefs that make you feel stuck or small.

On Tuesday, the new moon is still in the sign of Virgo but it’s also having a tense relationship with the planet Jupiter who is currently in Gemini. You might feel a push and pull between wanting to get organized, be practical, and focus on the details (that’s the Virgo energy) and feeling scattered or overwhelmed by too many ideas or options (that’s the influence of Jupiter in Gemini)

As the moon moves into the sign of Libra on Wednesday, it also interacts with four other planets which can bring a mix of energies that might feel a bit overwhelming or scattered. It highlights or amplifies that energy of finding balance in your life that Libra likes to help us focus on. To work with this energy in your art journal, think about areas in your life where you’re seeking more balance.

With the moon in Libra moving into the same sign as Venus, Thursday brings a loving energy to support you. Emotionally, this energy encourages you to open your heart, be more loving toward yourself and others, and seek out beauty and harmony in your surroundings. Create a page that represents what love means to you—whether it’s self-love, love for others, or love for the world around you. Use colors, images, or words that feel soft, nurturing, and peaceful.

On Friday, the waxing crescent moon forms a happy relationship with Jupiter and Mercury. Spiritually, this energy encourages you to trust in the bigger picture and to believe in your potential for growth and positive change. To work with this energy in your art journal, focus on exploring your dreams, ideas, and what feels expansive to you. Create a page that symbolizes growth and possibility.

Saturday’s lunar energy supports you in facing what you need to face and stepping into your power. The energies of the moon and Mars are working together smoothly. Scorpio is a sign of depth, transformation, and emotional intensity, while Mars brings drive, courage, and a strong will to take action. Let your journal be a safe space to dive deep into your emotions and express what you find there. Use this energy to set intentions for what you want to transform and to visualize the empowered version of yourself that you’re becoming.

The week wraps up on Sunday with the waxing crescent moon in Scorpio having a happy relationship with Saturn. This is a deep and grounding energy that invites you to focus on emotional stability and long-term growth. You might feel a strong urge to dive deep into your emotions but in a way that is practical and steady, helping you build a solid foundation for your inner growth. Use this time to think about long-term change and commit to the slow, steady work of emotional healing.

Remember, the moon’s energy is here to support you in embracing who you truly are. By art journaling with the lunar energy this week, you’re not only connecting with the rhythms of nature but also nurturing your soul and manifesting the changes you really want to see in your life so you can more fully align with your true self.

Now let’s talk more about how to work with the new moon in Virgo to change how you see yourself so your wild spirit feels free to shine its light in this world.

More About the New Moon in Virgo

The Virgo New Moon is also about clearing fear and dealing with unfinished business from the past so you’re not carrying that baggage forward with you. You may need to tie up some loose ends from the past before you can move forward with the intentions you set during this new moon. This is a practical and grounded new moon, and it’s interacting with Saturn in Pisces which brings a wisdom to make mature, sustainable choices in your life.

Because of the relationship the new moon is having with Saturn, this new moon is a great time to check in on your longer-term projects and priorities.

Are you staying on track and making progress toward your long-term goals?

With the spirit of Saturn coming through, this energy encourages you to put your efforts toward things that have lasting potential or that provide protection and security for your future.

It’s a fresh and refocused new moon, perfect for imagining who you want to be and what you want to accomplish five, ten or twenty years from now and bring that version of yourself to life now.

Align Your Self-Image with Your Long-Term Goals

Since the new moon is reflecting that Saturn energy, it’s also a great time to consider if the way you see yourself is aligned with your long-term goals. Aligning your identity with your long-term goals means making sure that who you are and how you see yourself matches the dreams and ambitions you have for your future. It’s about looking at the person you are today and asking yourself if that version of you is truly on the path to where you want to be in the years ahead. If there are parts of how you see yourself that don’t support your goals or hold you back, this is the time to consider letting them go. Instead, focus on nurturing the parts of yourself that feel aligned with your deepest desires and the future you envision.

With the Virgo New Moon, you can use its practical and discerning energy to explore this in your art journal. Start by creating a page that represents your long-term goals—what do you want to achieve, experience, or become? Use images, colors, or words that symbolize these goals.

Next, reflect on your current identity. Are there aspects of how you see yourself that support these goals, or are there parts that feel out of alignment? Create another page that expresses this—maybe with symbols, drawings, or words that represent the parts of your identity you want to strengthen and those you’re ready to release.

Use this time to write about how you want to see yourself moving forward. What qualities do you want to develop? What beliefs or habits do you need to let go of to step into the person who can achieve those long-term goals?

Let this new moon energy guide you in making intentional choices about how you see yourself and how you want to grow.

Take a Closer Look At What’s Working in Your Life and What’s Not Working

As we enter this Virgo New Moon, I’m thinking about its special qualities—especially its energy of discernment and sorting. A Virgo new moon invites us to take a close look at what’s working in our lives and what’s not, helping us decide what to keep and what to let go. This is a powerful time for reflecting on who you really are and who you want to become.

It’s about sorting through your self-perceptions, releasing the ones that no longer serve you, and embracing those that feel more aligned with your true self.

For me, this means taking a deep look at the parts of my identity I want to release and the ones I want to embrace and grow. I’m asking myself which identities make me feel small, stuck, or held back—those are the ones I’m ready to let go of. At the same time, I’m focusing on the parts of myself that feel true, expansive, and aligned with who I want to become. These are the aspects of myself I want to nurture and grow.

The difficult experiences I endured as a child deeply impacted my sense of self-worth. The betrayal I experienced at a young age, imprinted a belief that I am not valuable or deserving of respect, which directly affected my self-esteem. My self-esteem and sense of self-worth is something I still struggle with to this day. Because trust was breached in such fundamental ways, I also subconsciously expect that others will also hurt or betray me. I unconsciously equate success with visibility, which can make me feel unsafe when things are going well in my life or in my business. My early experiences also taught me that visibility leads to vulnerability and harm and I have feelings of helplessness and fear that still need to be tended to with compassion and curiosity.

These are the beliefs I want to release:

I am not valuable.

I am not deserving of respect.

Success makes me vulnerable.

Others will inevitably hurt or betray me.

These are the beliefs I want to embrace and grow:

I am inherently worthy.

I deserve respect.

Visibility is a strength and an asset.

I can establish healthy, trustworthy relationships.

I am resilient.

I can handle success.

Diving Deeper

I’m using art and the MAP Method (MAP stands for Make Anything Possible) to help me heal all of this during the new moon in Virgo, throughout the FREE 3-Day Wild Witch Activation I’m hosting. By combining art with the MAP Method, I’m working to heal those deep-seated beliefs and release the fears that have held me back.

Art allows me to express these feelings and stories in a safe and creative way, while the MAP Method helps me go to the roots of these beliefs in my subconscious and gently transform them. Through this process, I’m slowly starting to feel safer in my own skin, more open to success and visibility, and more connected to my true, wild self. I’m excited to guide others on this journey, too, so we can all find more freedom and empowerment together.

If 3 creative days focusing on changing how you see yourself and setting your wild spirit free sounds like fun to you too, you can learn more or register to join the free 3-Day Activation here.

Whether you join me on these magical art adventures or not, I encourage you to take out your art journal and whatever art supplies you have handy and use this Virgo New Moon to sort through your inner world and set intentions that align how you see yourself with the success you want to experience in the future. It’s the perfect time to use this discerning energy to reflect on how you see yourself and to consciously release any outdated self-perceptions. Embrace instead the ways of seeing yourself that resonate with your true spirit. By working with this new moon, you can focus on what feels right and let go of what no longer fits, allowing you to step into a more authentic and empowered version of yourself.

with love,
